If you truly want March Madness to pour dollars into Kansas City, root for Iowa State.
The Cyclones will bring a hefty bunch of fans to their Thursday game against Texas A&M in the Big 12 Men's Basketball Tournament. The Aggies, based on the past, won't.
So if Iowa State wins on Thursday, it sticks around to play Kansas State on Friday.
That means another day for Cyclones fans to eat, drink and sleep in Kansas City. They will be spending money and helping local taxpayers finance the bonds used to build the Power & Light District, while also paying for the new Sprint Center with their hotel bills.
So how far could Iowa State and its free-spending fans get in the tournament? Based on rankings, the Cyclones likely will get beat by Kansas State on Friday for a spot in the Big 12 semi-finals on Saturday.
That wouldn't be bad news for KC. It's great news when at least two if not all three "local" schools (KU, K-State and Missouri) reach the semi-finals.

It will take other people's money because the people of Kansas City will soon be left without pocket money of their own.
That said, I like Iowa fans and Iowa people in general. They have this secret handshake thing going and they never pass a fellow Iowa shirt wearing fan without exchanging words. They know every famous person who ever hailed from their state and the pride is obvious.
Welcome Iowa fans!
Well,
I got my tickets by buying them from my brother who is an ISU alum. He buys them from ISU, I buy them from him. Win win all around.
