ACORN is suing the federal government for Congress' decision to eliminate funding for the liberal group.

Good luck, ACORN. I'm sure a lawsuit against the feds won't take much time or money to win.

ACORN does have a point in saying it was singled out for punishment by Congress, on the heels of several controversies.

The biggest came a few months ago when widely circulated undercover videos emerged of ACORN employees giving questionable tax advice to people masquerading as a pimp and a prostitute.

However, it wasn't just Republicans -- long the enemy of ACORN, especially for its meritorious get-out-the-vote efforts among low-income residents -- who voted for the funding cuts.

Many Democrats chimed in, too, not wanting to appear to encourage the kind of behavior ACORN was involved in at the time.

ACORN wants its money back, pointing out it wasn't convicted of any crime.

The group might even win in courts -- months or years from now. Meanwhile, its reputation continues to be stained.
