Last night, ousted ex-but-still-recognized President Zelaya, thanks to his Foreign Minister Patricia Rodas Baca holding her Blackberry (great branding opportunity for Research in Motion) at the UN’s mic in front of her colleagues, addressed the World via his mobile phone from Brazil's Embassy in Honduras.

He called for justice and apparently sounded presidential, encouraging calm and good will.

It’s good to see that Zelaya is not inciting riots and protests. Bloodshed in the streets will be a waste. His country has elections in late November and he knows he has time to build the voting power rather than the revolutionary fervor. Brazil is looking like the hero in this as well.

Brazil appears to be advising Zelaya, leading the regional nations with a call for democratic voice to reverse the June coup’s effects. Rather than a stand-off, Zelaya has the opportunity to use his “exile” time, to plan and communicate. He’s taking the right road. Hopefully the interim government of Honduras will use restraint. They need to get their PR team working as well.

Battles of ideas are much more interesting than street fighting twitter search for Zelaya…
