Had so called 'journalists' been doing their job during the campaign the world would have already known that Obama has numerous connections with leftist radicals, socialists, marxists, and communists. Obama wrote in his own book that he intentionally associated with Marxist professors, and black radicals.

The American people are the winners here. Someone like Van Jones has no place in the government, and it's not because he called one political party names. Many of the people who support Glen Beck have been using that name for BOTH parties for quite some time. Jones was just rude and uncouth to use it on camera.

Yael and other so called journalists can continue to call Beck names but it's not going to accomplish anything except to make them look like worse fools than they already are. It's well known that the Star in general and Yael in particular, delete posts anytime they feel like it. That some of these posts remain is a disgrace. They are in violation of the Star's professed posting policies in addition to being offensive to most people. Many people would appreciate the Star sticking to their own posting policies.

My grandma told me that her grandma told her that her grandma told her that her grandma told her that a neighbor of Dolly's saw the whole thing!

They have already experienced a failed denial of service attempt by the radical racist hate groups!

I have detected a certain amount of inflexibility in the blogs, and, yes, a certain amount of extremeness. God knows I am reflexively more hostile to diatribes from the right, and quicker to see an ounce of truth in diatribes from the left. I’m not happy with that, it’s just my initial reaction.

I watch Olbermann a couple of times a week (a wonderfully written show); but it’s not like I take him as gospel or would quote him as a reason someone else should think something. I’m not surprised that people are amused by Beck, Limbaugh, or Olbermann; I am just surprised that people would consider them authoritative or influential.

Don’t you suspect that people do this just to be argumentative? I mean, when you start a comment with phrases like socialist, Marxist, birther, right-wing, Nazi, etc., it doesn’t seem likely that you are going to change anyone’s mind. Doesn’t anyone care about persuading? Is it all just venting?

As for the Palin/Beck (and I’d probably include Kennedy in the last week) allure, is that just "journalists" tossing gasoline on the fire for ratings?

The victory is for the American people who damn well do not want a Communist (self avowed btw) in charge of economic/employment matters in our government. Only Marxist columnists can be sad about his resignation.

So when will Glenn Beck comment on the rape/murder charges? His silence is deafening.

Does anyone have any idea why Mr. Abouhalkah’s post on Glen Beck has 22,000 reads and counting, and his post titled “Public Option Dies a Public Death Sunday” has only 270 or so? Is this just the same thing that happens with Palin posts. Does it have something to do with “reads” from people with a specific interest in Beck/Palin?

I don’t have a good feel for how the blogosphere works; what the dynamics are.

I agree with you in part, Chazzykc. This seems to me like a political misjudgment by President Obama and the 4th Estate appears to have been lost in the past (like not reporting the sexual affairs of FDR, Eisenhower and Kennedy (and probably many, many others)).

I’m not sure I know what being a Marxist or a racist has to do with green jobs, but I agree that the public isn’t ready for it. Personally, I’d be OK with anyone who had a good idea—I have been known to agree with Anne Coulter. You're suprised; think how I feel.

It seems to me that I have seen ACL’s exact same comment on half a dozen threads today. Perhaps it is a careful analysis of each subject, I’m not really sure since I’ve never read it all the way through (I usually fade out around the KKK comparison). Perhaps it is just pride of authorship, the knowledge that you have nailed one point perfectly (I fall pray to this sometimes). Perhaps it is just a reflection of a person without much to say substituting repetition for insight. Hard to tell.

I’m tempted to post this on all the threads, but I think I’ll pass.

1) Beck ran videos of Jones speeches. He also cited documents that Jones had signed. Jones cooked his own goose by being who and what he is.

What should be frightening to all is that Jones was ever allowed to hold any position of authority. Gross negligence in the vetting system OR horrific judgement on the part of Obama's inner circle.

2) Once Jones video hit You Tube he was toast......He should have resigned immediately.

3) Actually Yael, the mainstream media was egregiously guilty of NOT REPORTING anything about Van Jones until Friday. That was the FIRST day that a single piece appeared regarding Jones in either the NY Times, Washington Post, Boston Globe, ABC News, NBC News, or CBS News.......not exactly a sterling record of fair, objective "reporting" on the part of the 4th estate.

Waterplants, your post made me think of the health care bill, as so many things do. The vaulting words of the Declaration of Independence and the lesser reality of it and the original Constitution were clearly a compromise. The choice, I think was whether to let the perfect get in the way of the possible. It must have been a bitter pill for some to swallow, though obviously not so bitter as another 85 years living as a slave.

I know this has nothing to do with the thread, generally. It just reminded me of difficult compromises that have been made in the past, and the sometimes catastrophic consequences.

I'm glad to see that Mr. Beck has, for the most part, stopped playing the buffoon. While he and I have serious differences on subjects like animal welfare, religion (I'm a non-believer), party affiliation (I don't believe in belonging to a particular party, too thought restrictive), child welfare, and the environment (I'm a tree hugger); politically, we have very similar beliefs(I'm an American patriot hook, line, and sinker). My one significant problem with our forefathers is that they created a document that said emphatically that "All men are created equal" and then they allowed slavery. Had they done the right thing in the beginning, we would not be on the brink of destruction at this very moment. There would nave been NO need for a Civil War. I am not black or any minority but I DO find it impossible to forgive our forefathers that one especially heinous error.

What paid off was Mr. Jones own words seeing the light of day.

Mr. Jones resignation was victory for the American people and of course it was a defeat for left wing apologists like Mr. Abouhalkah.

Rather than doing an honest analysis and recounting of all the controversial statements uttered by Mr. Jones over the years that recently became public knowledge...Mr. Yael T. Abouhalkah cites only a couple of Mr. Jones' statements and then he blames Glenn Beck for Mr. Jones' demise.

Mr. Abouhalkah's myopic view of this situation and unwillingness to address the full body of Mr. Jones' history provides an insight to how the left operates when faced with facts. Why embrace the concept of personal responsibility when you can blame the Glenn Becks of the world for the failings of lefties like Mr. Jones?

I think Van Jones had to go, and President Obama made a mistake in appointing him. Jones probably is a Marxist and a racist. I’m not quite sure what that has to do with green jobs, but I don’t quite think America is ready for a guy like Jones—unless he can play quarterback or hit 300, then he’d be welcomed with open arms on the Chiefs or Royals. Ideas don’t hold the same charm.

Fifty-seven companies have now committed not to support Beck’s show since ColorOfChange.org launched its campaign four weeks ago after the Fox News Channel host called President Obama a "racist" who "has a deep-seated hatred for white people" during an appearance on Fox & Friends.

Beck did not get rid of Beck. Beck did. His own words and actions could not withstand scrutiny. People who "claim" to be combat veterans of Viet Nam and still defend Jones an admitted Communist and blasting others for doing some of the things you supposedly defended...shame on you. Beck did not win anything and Jones was not the only one to lose. We all lost win our president appointed him.

Herr Beck will be leading us forward into Poland and we will follow.

Van Jones is only one of many issues this fascist president has brought to the white house. From socialized medicine to by passing congress to hire his buddies in areas of power, with out being vetted by congress is unconstitutional.

It is sad that we don't have more people in the press that talks about the truth. Shame on CNN, shame on MSNBC, it is pathetic that we have no real journalist that report on the truth. Thank you Glenn Beck, and Rush voice being the voice or Reason and Truth.

Let's see, this is a perfect example of "Do as I say, not as I do." I see the liberals screaming their heads off, but had this been a Republican who had said all Democrats were "assholes," they would have asked for his crucifixion, followed by urinating on his ashes.

If one would take the time to read Beck's "Commone Sense", he tackles not only both parties, but the American voter in general. Quit your gritching people! This columnist is crying as someone in their party got caught with their pants down. Had it been a Republican who had done the same thing and had to resign, they'd be throwing an orgy.

Jones had to go. He was simply unprofessional and embarrassing. Before we pat Glen on the back, remember Jones' comments were what ended his position. Glenn just kept them in the media's eye.

Glenn Beck may have brought it to the public's attention, but it is not a victory for Beck, it is a victory for real Americans everywhere....you know the type, the non-communist, non-racist moderates and conservatives...and yes, even some Democrats!
