Happy Independence Day.
There seem to be three prevailing theories about Sarah Palin's shocker announcement that she's resigning as governor of Alaska:
1) She's resigning ahead of a massive scandal.
2) It's a brilliant decision to rev up her presidential prospects.
3) It's another misguided, impulsive decision, and yet more evidence that Sarah Palin should never be president of the United States.
I lean toward No. 3. Sarah Palin is a very intriguing character, but she has no depth. She can work a crowd, but she can't debate policy. She can get herself elected governor of Alaska, but she can't finish out a single term. I think we'll see her giving speeches and becoming a fixture on the radio and TV talk shows. But she's going to have to show a lot more depth before people will trust her to hold a high national office.

The rest of Rocky's post was looney enough, but it's particularly humorous to see a misspelling when someone criticizes another for his supposed inability to "cleary" express himself.
And it is so funny to see Interface posting about spelling. Interface, do you not have other things to do? Maybe make an actual point?

All that and..
Obama gets a scholarship to Occidental, graduates cum laude from Columbia, goes on to Harvard on a scholarship, becomes the editor of the Harvard Law Review, and graduates with honors. He pens two national best-seller books. Works as a community organizer in Chicago. Teaches Constitutional Law at the University of Chicago for twelve years. Gets elected to the Illinois State Government. Gets elected to the US Senate.
Palin talks, and thinks, like she should be chawin' tobacco. She becomes mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, population 7 thousand, and then gets elected as Governor of -- Alaska, a State with fewer people than the South Side of Chicago, and less cultural and intellectual attainment that you'd find in a couple of coffee houses near the University of Chicago.
Great. I fervently hope that she becomes the Republican nominee for President in 2012.
All that and yet he still can't speak cleary without a teleprompter and the country is continually getting worse everyday since he has taken the oath of office.
I think his election meant the savior of all things.
You want to talk about an empty suit, accomplished nothing before being proped up the newsmedia so they can have their darling first black president...and you have Barack Obama.
Sarah Palin is a nobody suddenly thrust onto the scene. And now we know everything about her and the people didn't like it.
Yet Obama has done all you mention, ran for president for damn near 2 full years...and we still really have no idea of who he is or what he has accomplished in life.
He used dirty, lowball tactics to get elected to the Illinois State Legislature, accomplished nothing in the US Senate and there is very strong evidence he never wrote either of his two books. And above all as I mentioned unemployment that his people said would not go over 8% is near 10% and with no signs of slowing. And his stimulus has been a go nowhere proposition. Let's also not forget that he has spent more and created more debt in six months than Bush did in 8 years. Cap and Trade and his healthcare bill will be the final death nail for the United States of America.
By 2012, Palin will be running for President of a second rate nation, deeper in debt than ever in our history and weaker on the foriegn policy front than ever.
Palin a C student, Obama cum laude
Hmmm, depth. Palin bounces around 5 schools and graduates a C student from -- ta daaa! the University of Iowa. Or is it that great engine of scholarship, the University of Idaho?

Let's see?
Babs doesn't like a Republican, what are the odds?
Hey Barb - Obama had no "depth"
and look where it got him.
Once again, thank you Barb for your political insight!
Is that why your newspaper is going out of business?
Palin fear
It amazes me that liberals are SO afraid of this woman. And the most they can do is insult her like little kids in school do!
Endurance? What endurance?
Is this the same Sarah Palin who boasted about her "endurance" in a Runner's World article that came out just 4 days ago?
I am surprised that anyone
I am surprised that anyone gives a tinkers dam about Sarah Palin.
