It's official: Dick Cheney is writing his memoir, ready to unleash his views of what happened over eight years during the Bush administration in the White House.

Conservatives can't wait to enjoy the vice president's writings, which also will cover his full 40 years in public service to several administrations.

Liberals can't wait to bash Cheney, of course, unless he issues all kinds of apologies for his actions in the White House. Not exactly likely, by the way.

As I wrote earlier this year, Cheney has tried to remain in the public eye to increase interest in his viewpoints.

He has been a frequent critic of President Barack Obama's policies, gaining media attention almost daily.

The new book deal, The New York Times reports, is with Threshold Editions, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.

His reward: $2 million. And the book is supposed to be out by 2011.

Cheney wielded plenty of influence with Bush and his administration. If he lets down his guard and writes frankly, Cheney could provide some excellent insights into what happened during those years in the White House.
