GOP leaders are ramping up their verbal attacks on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's credibility, and for good reason.

Finally, the Republicans think they have an opportunity to criticize a leading Democrat -- and win the argument. Pelosi is making it too easy for them.

House Minority Leader John Boehner is leading the charge, but others are chiming in, too.

Their major point: Pelosi has made a strong, even over-the-top charge that the CIA lied about what she knew about torture and when.

Said Boehner: "Lying to the Congress of the United States is a crime. And if the Speaker is accusing the CIA and other intelligence officials of lying or misleading the Congress, then she should come forward with evidence and turn that over to the Justice Department."

Good points.

So does Pelosi have some written ammunition to use in backing up her point?

Or will she continue to think that, because she's House Speaker, people will believe her, especially when she has criticized torture techniques before?

At this point, the Republicans have the upper hand. Pelosi needs to provide some compelling information to back up her charge, or apologize to the CIA.
