With Bill Richardson declining to submit to the nominations process for commerce secretary, how about John Kerry for that job?
He wanted secretary of state, and reportedly was devastated with Barack Obama turned to Hillary Clinton.
He's a member of the Senate Commerce Committee, and familiar with the issues.
You'd think Obama owes Kerry something, since it was Kerry's selection of Obama to give the keynote speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention that vaulted Obama onto the national stage.
And, the chances of the Democrats losing a Senate seat from Massachusetts are almost nil.
Kerry for commerce. It seems like a natural.

Here's the deal
I have been reading and writing on this blog for well over a year--seen a lot of user names come and go--and come back. Patterns in writing style have always been easy to figure out.
Rogue/sonofrogue/buddyt is one such example on the conservative side.
twas, interface/alma knows full well you and I are not the same...but he needed something to write once I figured out the connection.
Everyone is anonymous here--multiple usernames are not new to blogs--this blog gets so little traffic that its pretty easy to figure out who's who.
I get the tactic of insulting, name calling and overall nastiness of some commenters in order to drive someone away. I'm not going anywhere.
I really don't care if he's Interface or Alma
I see no need to use alter-egos, but if someone wants to, whatever. Interface thought that I and Jenniferm were alter egos. I would have thought Alma would have known better, so that leads me to think they are not. Edith, I think, thinks I'm a conservative housewife. I have a wife. She's conservative, but she works. So like I said, whatever people want to think, that's fine.
OK twas...
no more pimping Interface/AlmaKS, no more pimping Interface/AlmaKS, no more pimping Interface/AlmaKS,no more pimping Interface/AlmaKS, no more pimping Interface/AlmaKS, no more pimping Interface/AlmaKS. Maybe if I keep repeating it I will remember. Tough not to blast a lib though partner...
Interface, is that you?????
Nice.
Kcgrh - leave him alone
I like having him here. I don't agree with him on many things, but I like reading his posts.
We Shall See AlmaKS
I am waiting for the big 0's toss of Israel under the bus...
So nice to have your witty comments back with us.
"Last post. I always said when somebody pissed me off so bad I started revealing personal information I'd get off and stay off. Congratulations, twas_was, you and the other right-wing blockheads have the blog to yourself." Alma quote, December 8, 2008.
And the Cow Goddess speaks.
Some things never change: your irrelevance and your crappy taste in shoes. Stay consistent, sweetie.
Yes, Obama owes Kerry
It would appear he owes a whole lot of people, alas, we were all told he was a "different" politician, so political payback and 'you endorse me and I'll give you this' wasn't supposed to be part of the program.
However, he does need to surround himself with people he can blame and throw under the bus when the opportunity warrants it. So Kerry would be a good choice.
Kerry for Commerce
It was good of you to think of Senator Kerry and even suggest him for this cabinet position, however as someone who has long admired Mr. Kerry and knows a bit about the man, I doubt he would be interested in this cabinet position. Frankly, he should have been chosen for SOS- a position he is more than suited and qualified for, but he seems excited and eager to get started as Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. I think we will see great things happening with this committee with him at the helm and in this position he is his own man not having to do the bidding of President Obama.
Kerry for dogcatcher. It's
Kerry for dogcatcher. It's time for him to ride off into the sunset on his wife's nickel. Hopefully, he'll keep riding until he reaches France.
