By now, no one's surprised at what slips out of Sarah Palin's mouth. On Wednesday, Palin offered her services to Barack Obama. Really.
But will he ask for her help?
Palin told CNN's Wolf Blitzer: "It would be my honor to assist and support our new president and the new administration."
That's nice of her. But why would Obama request any assistance from Palin?
On energy matters, one of her area of expertise, she and Obama are far apart. Palin is the original "drill, baby, drill" lady, while Obama is far more cautious about looking for oil in America.
It's also not exactly clear how sincere Palin is about helping Obama.
She told Blitzer, for instance, she was concerned about Obama's possible ties to William Ayers, the former Weather Underground member.
"If anybody still wants to talk about it, I will," Palin said. "Because this is an unrepentant domestic terrorist who had campaigned to blow up, to destroy our Pentagon and our U.S. Capitol."
But Palin quickly added, "Now is the time to move on and make sure all of us are doing all that we can to progress this nation."
That's for sure, although Palin probably shouldn't keep looking at her cell phone, expecting a call from Obama any time soon.

Ohhhhhh, So he's saying that
Ohhhhhh, So he's saying that FOX broadcast a fake story and fooled MSNBC? Double shame!
No, it was MSNBC who got the source wrong,
Fox broke the story and has not divulged their sources.

See, I keep telling you that you can't believe FOX!
NY Times= Judith Miller, yet.....
Of course, the NY Times isn't really all that reputable anymore since their horrid stories prior to the Iraq War, but Obama fans always liked to link to NY Times stories as "proof" of everything.

They say the blame lies not with them but with shoddiness in the traditional news media and especially the blogosphere.
“With the 24-hour news cycle they rush into anything they can find,” said Mr. Mirvish, 40.
Mr. Gorlin, 39, argued that Eisenstadt was no more of a joke than half the bloggers or political commentators on the Internet or television.
An MSNBC spokesman, Jeremy Gaines, explained the network’s misstep by saying someone in the newsroom received the Palin item in an e-mail message from a colleague and assumed it had been checked out. “It had not been vetted,” he said. “It should not have made air.”
But most of Eisenstadt’s victims have been bloggers, a reflection of the sloppy speed at which any tidbit, no matter how specious, can bounce around the Internet. And they fell for the fake material despite ample warnings online about Eisenstadt, including the work of one blogger who spent months chasing the illusion around cyberspace, trying to debunk it.
****
Oh look, the KC Star's own blog ran a link to the story.........
heh. Her Governing Record? Yeah I'm familiar with it...
On Stevens - is she or isn't she calling for Stevens to step aside, she hasn't spoke against Stevens, a convicetd felon, for quite some time, yet he still running for office;
she's on record for asking and lobbying Congress for millions in earmarks;
She increased the windfall profit taxes on oil companies and doubled the welfare payments made to Alaskan residents (CAN YOU SAY REDISTRIBUTOR-IN-CHEIF?)
She was for the bridge to nowhere until it became a liability;
She replaced the bridge to nowhere with a gravel road to nowhere at a cost of $23M;
She put the governors jet on eBay alright - a five year old practice in the state (of putting things for sale on eBay) and she did it against expert advice that told her to use a broker. Over 8 months later she turned it over to a broker - the delay costingthe state thousands.
She's been convicted of ethics violations;
And she's a strange opportunistic conservative Alaskan political hack who enjoys the full support of only those 28% of Americans who think Bush did a great job as president.
Yeah, I'm familiar with her record.
Palin is more credible than the media
It was among the juicier post-election recriminations: Fox News Channel quoted an unnamed McCain campaign figure as saying that Sarah Palin did not know that Africa was a continent.
Who would say such a thing? On Monday the answer popped up on a blog and popped out of the mouth of David Shuster, an MSNBC anchor. “Turns out it was Martin Eisenstadt, a McCain policy adviser, who has come forward today to identify himself as the source of the leaks,” Mr. Shuster said.
Trouble is, Martin Eisenstadt doesn’t exist. His blog does, but it’s a put-on. The think tank where he is a senior fellow — the Harding Institute for Freedom and Democracy — is just a Web site. The TV clips of him on YouTube are fakes.
Last month Eisenstadt blogged that Samuel J. Wurzelbacher, Joe the Plumber, was closely related to Charles Keating, the disgraced former savings and loan chief. It wasn’t true, but other bloggers ran with it.
You can keep on believing the lies, but the people who have actually met Palin all agree she is intelligent and quickly grasp complex problems. All you really have to do is look at her governing record and that should point out those qualities. But why do that when the lies get better headlines.
definitely no apology, ken
the supposed biased media that you reference was FOX NEWS, and their correspondent with very deep connections into the Mccain campaign.
His sources were real, Fox News broke the story, and why on earth would we listen to Palin's defense?
She isn't credible defending her own ignornace.
An Apology
It appears that the leaks out of the McCain campaign about Palin were a hoax.
MSNBC was the victim of a hoax when it reported that an adviser to John McCain had identified himself as the source of an embarrassing story about former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, the network said Wednesday.
I suspect an apology from Yael and all the other columist at the Star will be forthcoming, right?
The truth is the media calls itself a profession but they are nothing more than gossip mongers who will destroy those they feel are a threat. There is no regulation in the media, no accountability, and worse yet, the harm they have inflicted will not go away and most of the absurd left will continue to believe the lie. Thank you Big Media for you honest reporting, bias, and lack of objectivity. By any standard you should go the way of the Big 3.
I liked Molly
I like Camille. I guess Molly didn't like Camille. Doesn't really mean anything in today's world--that column is from 1991.
Of course, let's not look at the substance of what Camille wrote--let's either do the attack the messenger or use the distraction tactic.
Wonderful game if people are willing to play it.
Thanks rjr3
for this link. Molly at her finest! Great last line.
