The Republican party's post-election downward spiral continues with aides of John McCain saying that Sarah Palin did not know Africa was a continent.
Fox News anchor Carl Cameron claims McCain's aides told him Palin did not understand Africa was a continent, not a country, and that she also didn't know what countries were in the North American Free Trade Agreement [NAFTA].
Cameron says the source told him that Palin had no idea the US, Canada and Mexico were in NAFTA.
"I wish I could have told you more at the time but all of it was put off the record until after the election," Cameron said.
"There was great concern in the McCain campaign that Sarah Palin lacks the degree of knowledgeability necessary to be a running mate, a vice-president, and a heartbeat away from the presidency.
"We're told by folks that she didn't know what countries were in NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement, that being Canada, the US, and Mexico.
"We're told she didn't understand that Africa was a continent rather than a country just in itself - a whole host of questions that caused serious problems about her knowledgeability.
"She got very angry at staff, thought that she was mishandled, was particularly angry about the way the Katie Couric interview went.
"She didn't accept preparation for that interview and the aides say that that was part of the problem. And there were times that she was hard to control emotionally - there's talk of temper tantrums at bad news clippings."
The Daily Mail reports that McCain's aides also said that she spent "thousands more" than the reported $US150,000 on clothes during the campaign, much to the shock of the donor that footed the bill.

Let's talk about Rand's "producers"
Her assumption and that of the Milton Friedman economists is that the market and the producers in the market will act with collective wisdom resulting in good for all which, sadly, our current crisis has proven to be a fallacy. "Producers" acting in self interest created the subprime mortgage market, very profitable for them in the short terms but disasterous in the long term. As Alan Greenspan dismayed, his long held beliefs in the free market have proven to be flawed. So are Rands. Not that self reliance, ingenuity, and personal responsibility aren't desirable goals but they cannot be relied upon to result in the capitalist utopia of Rand's imagination.

I am not saying they are either true or false. I was merely "contrasting" your liberal MSM, including the falling star, to FNC, which offers the differing viewpoints in a fair and balanced manner.
I thought, and continue to think, that if McCain had sought to block his "history", like the big O did, that your beloved MSM would have been all over this. Their hypocrisy is sad...

If you had read AS, you would know that throughout the book there was this question of Who is John Galt? It was a tactic used by the producers who were being driven out of business by the government. The producers of course merely abandoned their businesses to the regulators who, of course, had no idea how the producers did what they did and the businesses failed. Throughout AS the country is in at least a recession and probably a depression. Could this be a sneak preview into the big O land????????

kcgrh, President-Elect Barack Obama's birth certificate is widely available from several online sources.
Obama was elected the first black president of the Harvard Law Review in his second year there--it's not possible to "forge" that particular credential. (It's also not possible to be accepted to Harvard Law School in the first place without an undergraduate degree.)
And, if you are familiar with Ayn Rand's writings--as you seem to claim--you know that John Galt is a main character in "Atlas Shrugged."

That the same people who cry the loudest about tax increases are the some dolts who supported the neocon's preemptive invasion and war in Iraq. Who the hell is going to pay for this? They're reaping a whirlwind upon Sarah P, hammering the nail into her political coffin. She was unqualified when McCain and Steve Schmitt picked her and now they have lost they're attacking her lack of intelligence and qualifications. This does not bode well for the GOP.

The thing you libs do not understand about FNC is that they truly are fair & balanced, so, of course, they would report the recent comments about Gov. Palin by someone who won't reveal their name.
Contrast this to the MSM who gave "you know who" a pass and did not DEMAND such things as birth certificate, college and law school records etc. But then we know they, such as their buddy The Falling Star, are not fair & balanced, they are in bed with you libs...
