Log this in the too good not to share category. This article by Peter Hawkins dated Nov. 7 is from The Sydney Morning Herald in Australia:
The Republican party's post-election downward spiral continues with aides of John McCain saying that Sarah Palin did not know Africa was a continent.
Fox News anchor Carl Cameron claims McCain's aides told him Palin did not understand Africa was a continent, not a country, and that she also didn't know what countries were in the North American Free Trade Agreement [NAFTA].
Cameron says the source told him that Palin had no idea the US, Canada and Mexico were in NAFTA.
"I wish I could have told you more at the time but all of it was put off the record until after the election," Cameron said.
"There was great concern in the McCain campaign that Sarah Palin lacks the degree of knowledgeability necessary to be a running mate, a vice-president, and a heartbeat away from the presidency.
"We're told by folks that she didn't know what countries were in NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement, that being Canada, the US, and Mexico.
"We're told she didn't understand that Africa was a continent rather than a country just in itself - a whole host of questions that caused serious problems about her knowledgeability.
"She got very angry at staff, thought that she was mishandled, was particularly angry about the way the Katie Couric interview went.
"She didn't accept preparation for that interview and the aides say that that was part of the problem. And there were times that she was hard to control emotionally - there's talk of temper tantrums at bad news clippings."
The Daily Mail reports that McCain's aides also said that she spent "thousands more" than the reported $US150,000 on clothes during the campaign, much to the shock of the donor that footed the bill.
Amazing.

FNC still requires a certain level of intelligence, which you obviously lack... you liberal drone...
"Fair and Balanced"
kcgrunt:
"FNC, which offers the differing viewpoints in a fair and balanced manner."
Yes. One generally expects to hear contrasting arguments about whether the moon is made of green cheese or not on Fox.
Is that "balance" or simply stupidity?
Oh my God, you two are hilarious
I know Sarah Plain is a conservative's wet dream, is that why some are calling her a whack job?
LOL
Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel
facelessdrone,
You points are well-taken, of course, but...
I just assume kcgrh is in the pornography business. That explains pretty much everything.
KCGRH HASN'T BEEN A WASTE OF TIME
KCGRH hasn't been a waste of time, if fact he's been the perfect foil. He gave me the opportunity to make my points. I'm happy for the exchange. I still think he just likes Palin cause she's a MILF.
Why Waste Your Time
kcgrh brags that he is "one of the ones the messiah is going to eff with higher taxes" and he "earned his station in life", from which we are supposed to infer that he is Very Important and makes Lots of Money. He threatens to "do all in my power to make less U.S. income the next 4 years" from which we should infer that HE will earn his money Overseas, because in the same post says "I will not suffer under Obama." He also claims to be well-read, but then comes up with stuff like the MSM didn't demand BO's birth certificate, which was only posted in pdf form on BO's web site for the last six months.
Why do you waste your time on such an obvious poser? The truly educated and wealthy don't use terms like "messiah", "eff" things up, brag about what they have, and they sure don't spend hours at the computer in the middle of the day responding over and over to posts. They are too busy actually making money.
"Joe the Plumber" was a lot like this guy: "I'm worried about Obama's tax hikes on the rich because one of these days I might get my plumber's license and then I can get a loan and buy a business and then I'm going to make a lot of money and you're going to take away my incentive." What BS.
Arguing with this poser is like wrestling with a pig, you just make yourself angry and dirty and the pig loves it.
kcgrh
Precisely. You miss MY point: John Galt is not a "who", he is a "what"--a character in a fictional book.
Yes here we can agree!
Yes here we can agree! The market was made too free in the sense that there was a lack of needed oversight. That is the fallacy in free market economics as it's been practiced in the USA. The producer (market) is free to do whatever is in their self interest be it good or ill. That is where Rand is wrong too. There is an important between laissez faire and free.
Still trying to blame the subprime mess
on minorities? We all can read between the lines and have heard this
bs before.

sub prime mess...
R, I would say that congress created the seeds for the subprime mess with the marching orders being give loans to unqualified people. Little Barney and Chris I get favorable treatment from CountryWide Dodd led the charge. Greenspan knowingly kept interest rates way too low for too long a period of time, further inflating house prices.
The govt. bailout merely shortcircuted "the market" again with the heavy hand of govt. I guess capitalism helping create the greatest nation in the world's history doesn't count for anything in your book. It does in mine.
