John McCain has just won the state of Missouri at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday by fewer than 6,000 votes.
The final, unofficial totals recorded by the Secretary of State's office: 1,442,613 votes for McCain and 1,436,745 for Barack Obama.
The victory means little to McCain, who's already lost the presidency to Obama.
But the outcome means a little more to the pride of many Missouri voters: The state on Tuesday failed to vote for the eventual president of the United States for only the second time since 1904.
The other exception was 1956. That year, Missourians endorsed Illinois Democrat Adlai Stevenson over Kansas Republican Dwight Eisenhower, running for re-election.

I think Missouri proved once
I think Missouri proved once again that we are a bonafide swing state to stay. We may not have factored into this electoral major victory but in years where the race will be close Missouri showed we will not be ignored.

Makes me wonder how things would be if McCain was President. Can't help but wonder if we would be in a better or worse state.

As goes Missouri, so goes the nation...no more.

We elected a democrat governor, sec of state, treasurer while voting for McCain, a republican state house and senate and Lt. Gov.
Throw in a hardcore conservative turned supposed democrat for Attorney General and Missour shows we are really not a red or blue state. We are a true microcosim of the nation. You cannot paint this state with anyone brush. We go to the polls and vote who we believe to be the better candidate.
