Stumping in bellwether Missouri on Monday, Sarah Palin implied that a vote for Barack Obama would support terrorists. What a desperate and reprehensible ploy.
“Do they think that terrorists have all of a sudden become the good guys?” she said in Jefferson City, according to CNN.
Palin continued: "No, the terrorists still seek to destroy America and her allies and all that it is that we stand for: freedom, tolerance, equality. The terrorists have not changed their minds.”
Palin and other Republicans have been bashing some Democrats -- especially U.S. Rep. Barney Frank -- for wanting to cut the defense budget.
But Obama does not favor such a reduction, something Palin always omits from her speeches.

Complicated Issues Don't Work Well as Sound Bites
The quote in question was: "So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can. It's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted."
1. The statement only applied to people who want to BUILD NEW coal plants. Nothing was said about existing plants.
2. Clean-burning coal plants do not emit large quantities of greenhouse gas and therefore are unaffected.
He went on to say, "The point is, if we set rigorous standards for the allowable emissions, then we can allow the market to determine and technology and entrepreneurs to pursue, what the best approach is to take, as opposed to us saying at the outset, here are the winners that we're picking and maybe we pick wrong and maybe we pick right."
The entire quote when carefully read and analyzed makes sense and is not radical at all. It is entirely appropriate that we require the use of clean technologies -- including available clean-burning coal technologies -- to prevent killing off our own planet. Use of clean burning coal technology clearly will not bankrupt the coal industry.
It is Obama's weakness that he talks intelligently on complicated issues that don't lend themselves well to sound bites. However, it is sickening to see intelligent people who jump all over him based on misinformation, because they won't take the time to actually read through the things he said.
Like the bit about Obama being "the messiah" because he made the statement that "We have a righteous wind at our back." The right wingnuts have twisted that around into a misquote of "I have a righteous wind at my back" which of course is horrible BUT FALSE. This myth is then falsely used to pillory Obama and make Something out of Nothing. Disgusting.

Coal is a dirty/lethal fuel. Do you remember the air at the summer olympics? Cap&trade initiatives on hydrocarbon emissions will encourage/force users toward clean coal or alternative energy. The net effect would be more jobs not fewer. I don't think that I/we should all have to breathe polluted unhealthy air so that coal companies can can make greater profits. I'm funny that way about lung disease. Read John McCains position on the subject, you'll find that he's been very supportive.

Putting your post up twice won't add any gravitas to it. It just makes you appear to be twice as ignorant. What century is it where you live? It's obvious that being of the muslim faith equates to something negative in your alledged mind. But what do you have against millionaires & billionaires? I thought they were what every little neocon aspires to.

Obama's Moderate Mask Is Finally Off
Barack Obama has misled the American people into thinking that he is a responsible moderate when in fact he is a hard leftist and has been all of his adult life.
This became glaringly clear today when his supporters reaction to the release of the news that Obama intends to deliberately bankrupt America's coal industry and knowingly send electricity prices sky high, was "So what. Tough."
They did not care about the 100,000 families whose breadwinner would be out of a job. (And what sort of other job is a coal miner trained to do?) They did not care about the hundreds of thousands of jobs in the support services that will also be lost.
It was just the standard hard left, "We don't care who gets hurt. We don't care if new technology has made coal burn cleanly. All that matters is our agenda. And sr____ you."
We'll be hearing that a lot from an Obama Administration.

Nobody really takes Yael Abouhalkah seriously anymore. Funny how Yael claims Palin "omits" things from her speeches, when he admits facts from his articles that would render his arguments useless.
