Two instant polls agree: Biden won debate

For the question, "Are they knowledgeable about important issues," CBS reported 98% said "yes" for Biden. That's all I ask for.

I think this was much better than having one or both give us cringeworthy soundbites to be replayed endlessly on YouTube.

We got to see each at his/her best, and, though Palin managed to answer questions a bit better than she did in her interviews earlier this week, Biden came across as much, much more qualified to help lead this country.

...but it's pretty good,nonetheless. I liked this: "When after the Republican convention Obama's poll numbers momentarily slipped behind McCain's, panicked Democrats urged him to get mad. He did precisely the opposite. He got calm." Y'know, he's RIGHT.

It WAS an interesting match. Biden didn't get a walkover, Palin had to deal with a Biden who was, at times, absolutely on fire. I think this was much better than having one or both give us cringeworthy soundbites to be replayed endlessly on YouTube.

I know it is easy to get wrapped up in the "I'm right, you're wrong" argument. They were both pretty good, weren't they? I thought Palin did a good job on the topic of energy and Biden did well on Foreign Policy. If you like Folksy doggone it, you will like Palin. If you like details and facts and figures (zzzz)you probably like Biden. C'mon can't we agree?

This Morning's Charles Krauthammer Article seems to sum it up for me anyway, here is a conservative pundit weighing in.

Even Fox (Fair and Balanced, y'know) said Biden won the debate. This is the flavor of your slice of the pie, Chuckles; get used to it.

Instant polls on the Internet or texted are not credible. And there are some others out there, gathered the same way, that paint a very different picture--which I'm sure were deliberately left out of this post.

Is it really too much to ask for balance or fairness or, God forbid, honestly, with this newspaper anymore?

There is no doubt that Biden won, based on his answers to the policy questions, showing how Obama/Biden would bring change, and disputing McCain's positions. Palin did spend time talking, but the substance of her answers were lacking.

I believe in God and my right to own a gun and I don't think for a minute that either are threatened with an Obama/Biden ticket.

I get the feeling that some cloud of weird gas fell on some parts of the country, rendering 1/2 the population stupid. Someone could actually think Biden was a bumbling fool? A fool? LOL. Now THAT's funny. And Sarah "connected" with the audience. They must think this is American Idol.

Whatever people think Sarah may have looked like, all of the smart people know that Sarah's answers were evasive at best. Sometimes they were good answers, but other times she didn't answer the questions and skipped to something else. Other times she tried to attack Biden with lies only to get caught in them by Biden's corrections.

Either that or she was so lost she didn't know. Someone else thinks the reason to vote Palin has to do with Guns. Our country is full of people voting for the dumbest reasons. No wonder it's going down the drain. That said, Sarah did better than expected, but Biden had the over all lead in all the answers.

I believe in God and in my right to own a gun. I also like STRAIGHT answers. You've got my vote, Sarah.

Ironically, Yael pronounced McCain had won the presidential debate last week and that didn't seem to offend your sensibilties.
