There are way too many things going on in KC. Went to KC Rep Saturday night to see a play about a Jewish hip-hop guy. Thought it'd be terrible. It was incredible. Went to see the construction at Arrowhead Sunday, and a football game broke out.

Came home to read the paper. Saw that Tina Turner and the Lion King are coming (in different shows). Don't these people know I have to work sometime?

But here's the kicker that I saw in the paper. Some goofball organized ten arts programs to make unsold tickets available at half-price on the day of a performance. TixKC.com they call it.

They've got participation from the Actors Theatre, American Heartland, Harriman-Jewell series, KC Ballet, KC Repertory, KC Symphony, NewEar (I need one), UMKC Conservatory, UMKC Theatre, Unicorn Theatre, and Wylliams/Henry Contemporary Dance.

Basta! Enough!

Tell them to post this article on every bulletin board they can find. Write letters to the patrons of the arts. Sports teams, too. Schools especially.

We don't want our children robbed of their free time by going to inexpensive concerts and plays. And I'm really getting upset because of all the stuff I don't have the time to see. Stop the madness. I mean it!

Disclosure: I have no connection whatever with these TixKC.com folks, and lucky for them.
