By Barb Shelly, Kansas City Star editorial page columnist
Where do politicians get the idea that women, in lemming-like style, will vote for a presidential ticket because a woman is on it?
Women rallied to Hillary Clinton because they saw she'd paid her dues and because she'd earned her stripes in the Senate. And, lest we forget, Clinton supports the right to terminate a pregnancy.
Sarah Palin is no Hillary Clinton. She hasn't paid her dues yet. And she's adamantly anti-abortion.
That's just an awfully big leap. Rather than seeing Palin as a draw, a lot of women are going to be insulted that John McCain thought we could be swayed so easily.

Delicious
Digg
could it be
Could it be because people voted for a woman to be a Sentor of a State she never lived in because they liked her husband as President?
Could it be because people believe that most African Americans will vote for Obama because he is black?
Could it be because you liberals have promoted your devotion to electing females until the Republicans beat you to the punch and may actually elect a woman to the White House instead of talking about it so they will vote for the next white guy you drag along? Obama and Clinton sure made you squirm this year. Almost had to put your money where your mouth is for women.
Get less busy, lizzie
Uh, see, the weak joke was that the BUSH twins had both been busted for underage drinking and that Miss Nuclear PrissyPants Palin's daughter had shown up with a bun in the oven, and the immoral, undisciplined Democrats' daughter has grown up being a role model for young women everywhere, and I'm sorry it got past you, so feel free to return to whatever you were doing...
Sarah Palin not Hillary Clinton
So Edith, do you now think, after the recent revelation that Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol is five months pregnant, that she has raised her kids right ? Palin has obviously overlooked educating her children in sensible birth control methods hasn't she ? Or was she hoping the abstinence until marriage program espoused by so many pro-life evangelicals was going to work with
her teenagers and their raging hormones. If I had a Mom I'd pick Hillary any time even though she didn't want to stay home and bake cookies.Chelsea had the good sense not to burden
her Mom with an unwanted pregnancy !
busy lizzie
No, she's not Hillary Clinton....
She raised her kids RIGHT, just like George Bush, not like the Clintons with that little snip Chelsea, with her underage drinkin' and her loose city ways....
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA
Private info like names were NOT released
That's what the Star owned by left leaning McClatchy lied about what was going to happen. That was NEVER the case though.
Even though abortionists DO release names, ages, and addresses of their "clients" to pro-abortion fund-raisers, courts do not release private information like names and addresses.
As far as how Margaret Sanger started her minority cleansing organization, that is STILL doing it, let's see what www.blackgenocide.org says about it:
Between 1882 and 1968, 3,446 Blacks were lynched in the U.S. That number is surpassed in less than 3 days by abortion.
1,452 African-American children are killed each day by the heinous act of abortion.
3 out of 5 pregnant African-American women will abort their child.
Since 1973 there has been over 13 million Black children killed and their precious mothers victimized by the U.S. abortion industry.
In his Letter from a Birmingham Jail, Martin Luther King said, "The early church brought an end to such things as INFANTICIDE." What would Martin Luther King say to the church today?
The Rev. Jesse Jackson once said:
"That is why the Constitution called us three-fifths human and then whites further dehumanized us by calling us 'niggers'. It was part of the dehumanizing process. The first step was to distort the image of us as human beings in order to justify that which they wanted to do and not even feel like they had done anything wrong. Those advocates of taking life prior to birth do not call it killing or murder, they call it abortion. They further never talk about aborting a baby because that would imply something human. Rather they talk about aborting the fetus. Fetus sounds less than human and therefore abortion can be justified".
With 1/3 of all abortions performed on Black women, the abortion industry has received over 4,000,000,000 (yes, billion) dollars from the Black community.
This is Pointless
It looks to me that anybody who disagrees with you is a raging liberal who hates America and is the stupidest person you ever came across. There IS such a thing as a different point of view.
To wit, when I ask for more information on an accusation you make, you simply give me another accusation about a newspaper in Kansas City. If there's a liberal newspaper in Kansas City, I'll be shocked to hear of it. It looks like yes, some of the editors might lean left, but the newspaper as a whole, and their OWNERS? Doubt it.
OMG he's back on full-on
OMG he's back on full-on dumba$$.
THE PRIVATE MEDICAL RECORDS WERE DISCUSSED NATIONWIDE ON THE O'REILLY SHOW, YOU FLAMING IDIOT. DO YOU THINK THAT O'REILLY HIRED SECRET AGENTS TO COME TO KANSAS TO GET THE RECORDS????
Archangel7883, if you're really out of the area, the St. Phill Kline saga is going to be completely incomprehensible until the book comes out. This is the fanatic who, as state attorney general, leaked patient records from an abortionist's office to Bill O'Reilly.
Oh, no, he didn't really do that, he had the records in his custody and O'Reilly talked about what they showed on air, but the Dan Beyers of this world believe our local paper is somehow responsible for the lies, lies, lies.
Look at the Star
They've lied endlessly about what Phill Kline has been doing. They lied and many gullible citizens swallowed the garbage about private information from medical records being released.
That was never the case.
But if you haven't followed the Kansas City Star's saga of misreporting and lies the last few years you wouldn't know what I'm talking about. Any one that disagrees with what those who run the Star are continually attacked and lied about without mercy.
Maybe you ought to look into this a little further when you have time.
I Miss My Logic Class...
It doesn't matter how it was started. What matters is how it's run now. And it doesn't matter how many times you scream and chant and and plug your ears, thinking something doesn't make it true.
One person who has to deal with what he believes is an idiot racist on the other line does not a racist organization make. Not even close. You must know this.
And with Republicans in charge of the entire country from 2001 to 2006, I find it hard to believe they wouldn't have prosecuted PP for any crimes you say they would have committed. Outrageous moral crimes is not the same as breaking the law.
Scared at the retaliation? What retaliation? I have no time for conspiracy theories. I left my UFO fears behind me when I was 10, shortly after stopping believing in Santa Claus. Give me solid proof or don't enter such arguments.
Edith: You may be right. But I've found that I sleep better at night doing it my way.
Mmmm....nope
Again, there's some who post here who have to vent before they can reason, which is fine. I repeat, occasionally there's serious insight by players for both sides, which is why I bother posting here at all.
But there's also a coterie of loony-right bullies who want to emulate Michael Savage (or whatever his first name is) and the like. They come on the posts full of last night's broadcast and do, I've come to believe, expect the opposition to scatter like sheep as soon as you call them "liberals." Whatever your past experience, Archangel, mine has been that you can't be nice to bullies, since they take that as a sign of weakness.
Here, it's exaggerated because the communication is blind. Pencil-necked geeks can present themselves as Conan the Barbarian, and large hairy middle-aged Italians can use a woman's name as an avatar.
Not that I'd ever engage in such dishonesty,of course.
Planned Parenthood Inc. is corrupt to the core
The organization was started with the intent purpose to eliminate minorities that is continuing to this day.
Hiding under the cloak of women's and reproductive rights, this racket has been able to break more and more laws because many are scared at the retaliation that can be mustered if you try to hold them accountable.
Planned Parenthood Inc. is the untouchable racketeering mob of the 21st century. And they revel in it.
Get On With It
Is there a point in here somewhere? I'm missing it if there is.
Not racists, college students conducting a test.
www.studentsforlife.org.
Calling People Names Never Helps Edith
Even if an argument is full of logic holes and baseless accusations and the occasional bald-faced lie, what good does it do to call them names? You're doing it for your own self-satisfaction and righteous indignity. Go through the argument, politely and respectfully counter it, and then move on.
Just Great...
A racist talking to a guy who clearly has no idea what to do in that situation.
Although I'm sure he was rolling his eyes when he said, "OK, whatever." Again, though, I'm sure from their point of view underwriting a specific minority isn't for eugenics but so that A Hispanic person could help a Hispanic person (or whatever).
Weird for me to defend Planned Parenthood, but when an argument sucks I usually wind up playing Devil's Advocate.
The problem with a flyover
Archangel7883, thanks for your comments, but apparently you're a visitor and don't know the local history of this blog. Dan Bayer occasionally has fits of lucidity, Mainstream_Coalition does not, and is eternally shocked to find out that the other side has teeth and is more than capable of dealing with name-calling. From time to time this blog turns into a place wherein ideas are exchanged between people who would never encounter each other on the street, if you can shoo away the slavering dimwits who are here only to replicate what they think Rush Limbaugh and Wossname Savage do every night.
Planned Parenthood Inc. in their own words:
New Mexico:
Donor: Um, can I make the donation specifically for a minority group?
Planned Parenthood: Like a specific group, or color…or a group of…
Donor: Yeah, yeah, I mean like, I want the abortion to be to be for an African American baby?
Planned Parenthood: Okay.
Donor: …and I was wondering if that could be possible?
Planned Parenthood: The exact amount we charge right now is $450 for an abortion
Donor: Okay, $450
Planned Parenthood: Mhm, and, um, we can definitely designate it for an African American.
Donor: Wonderful, Um
Planned Parenthood: Yeah
Ohio:
Donor: When I underwrite abortions, does that apply to minorities too?
Planned Parenthood: If you specifically wanted to underwrite an abortion for a minority person, you can target it that way. You can specify that is how you wanted it spent.
Donor: Ok, yeah, because there’s definitely way too many Black people in Ohio, so I’m just trying to do my part.
Planned Parenthood: Ok, whatever.
Donor: Well Blacks especially need abortions too, so that’s what I’m trying to do.
Planned Parenthood: Well, for whatever reason, we’ll accept the money.
Donor: Ok great, thank you.
These videos which are the audios of the calls, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eygv8qEkiFE and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwif0VMW3c4, attest to the fact that Planned Parenthood has no problem taking money earmarked for a specific race.
Margaret Sanger in her own words:
"Birth control must lead ultimately to a cleaner race."
"We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don't want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population…"
"Eugenic sterilization is an urgent need ... We must prevent multiplication of this bad stock."
"Always to me any aroused group was a good group, and therefore I accepted an invitation to talk to the women's branch of the Ku Klux Klan..." Planned Parenthood founder, Margaret Sanger
(Margaret Sanger: An Autobiography, P.366)
Better, But Still Needs Improvement
You're still looking at this issue only from your point of view. Try to take out what I realize are your very strong feelings of being pro-life. They're probably a lot greater than mine, and like I said, I'm VERY pro-life.
They don't think of it like you're thinking of it. They go into the poorer neighborhoods because they usually lack any kind of health care plan, and IN THEIR MIND, they are offering a noble service. It has nothing to do with murder or targeting minorities to kill their children and everything to do with following their own very different set of beliefs to the fullest.
Do I disagree with them? Of course I do.
Also: Was Sanger a racist? Maybe. Probably. A lot of stuff can get forged and highly spun, especially documents from back in the day. I take everything with a grain of salt.
However: Don't paint the entire organization with the same color. It's essentially giving children the sins of their father (or mother, in this case). I'm Catholic, but I don't want the guy who trots up to the media as head of the Catholic League (his name escapes me right now, I'm sorry) representing me as a Catholic. I REALLY REALLY don't. I'm a Christian, but I don't want people like Jerry Falwell representing me as a Christian. I don't stand for a lot of their values.
I said Margaret Sanger agreed with ethnic cleansing
I'm not calling those who support abortion on demand Nazis. But I do think using the Nazi analogy is correct when describing Planned Parenthood Inc. targeting minorities.
Margaret Sanger started PP because of her agreeing with the Nazi Party that minorities should be cleansed from the human race. And when you take into account the Planned Parenthood Inc. Top Award Winner, the Star parroting EVERYTHING they're told by PP and refusing to report ANYTHING of PP's criminal behavior across the country for years, you can see why Joseph Goebbels would absolutely love the Star.
I put my money where my mouth is...
I donate to many organizations that are trying to change the public's attitude toward abortions at anytime for any reason and try to get the unconstitutional Roe v. Wade overturned.
You're BOTH Doing It
To start with: I'm from Mesa, Arizona. But I was surfing and found this and continually rolled my eyes through this entire series of namecallings, so I decided to post my opinion.
I am adamantly pro-life. That being said, I don't take the view that pro-choicers are Nazis. Because at my first job (at a mini-golf arcade place, no less), our boss enjoyed getting the staff into spirited, thoughtful, and RESPECTFUL conversations, I was able to understand where pro-choicers are coming from.
I'm pro-life because I believe life begins at conception. Pro-choicers believe that life begins faaaaar after that. Some believe it's only when the baby is born. Some believe it's after X trimester. Calling the people who oppose you Nazis does absolutely nothing for your cause. It actually might lose you some valuable, intelligent supporters on your side because nobody likes to be on the same team as a bully.
But Edith, I almost laughed at all of your posts because you'd take your opponent to task for name-calling and then call them a mindless boob. You're escalating the problem as well.
Anyway, try to get along. I think that'll be easier for Edith than others. For you pro-lifers at there like me: God doesn't want you to judge - that's for Him to do. Treating anybody (and I'm a firm believe that the Bible means ANYBODY) with less than full courtesy and respect serves only you ill.
Have a fun debate, everybody.... Remember the best kind is the civil kind.
And...
Jeez, you're not gonna stop, are you? You really do prefer banging your drum to playing a tune. You have the option of doing something significant to stop abortion and you choose to feed your ego instead.
Time is on our side...
Planned Parenthood Inc. can't go on forever breaking laws across the country including not reporting child rape.
And the Planned Parenthood Inc. Top Award Winner, the Star can't keep the public in the dark about their friend's criminality forever either.
Not in this day and age of the world wide web.
You're wasting your resources
if you continue hammering on non-existent issues. You don't have the time or money to prove that Planned Parenthood is getting away with felonies, UNLESS I'M WRONG AND YOU CAN POINT TO A TRACK RECORD OF CONVICTIONS IN SOME JURISDICTION IN THE U.S. And blaming your lack of success on the local paper's brazen indifference to the slaughter of innocents is a complete waste of your time--even if you're right, what are you accomplishing by chanting, "The Star's complicit! The Star's complicit!"
Spend an afternoon with a pad and pencil. Write across the top of the first page, WHAT PRACTICAL, EFFECTIVE STEPS I CAN TAKE TO STOP ABORTION. See if after two cups of coffee and staring at the pad for twenty minutes you're still inclined to write on that sheet, "Write letters to the editor calling anyone who's not pro-life a Nazi."
See, we can agree on something!
My point ultimately is that abortion providers should follow State and Federal laws. Planned Parenthood Inc. is so full of themselves they arrogantly think they're above the law. There are many instances of their criminal activities across the country for years. Logically if they continue on their path of brazen lawbreaking, they will get more people ticked off against them and they will take it out on Roe v. Wade. Planned Parenthood Inc. is so insulated from accountability that they've become their own worst enemy. They will destroy themselves.
For some, sex is a very special thing and it is to be taken seriously. A whole new human life can come from it. Obviously. The thought that you can go down to the local abortion mill and just kill off that human being because it's an inconvenient side effect of sex is selfishness at it's very worse. A short while of pleasure equals the destruction of another's lifetime?! That's nuts!
And in all seriousness (in other words, let's keep this real)
Of COURSE I'm glad I wasn't aborted.
And I'm also glad my parents didn't start using birth control until some point after I was born. And I'm glad that I was the blessed recipient of the only one-in-twenty fertilization granted to people Doing It.
What's the difference?
Do you want to want to run up a total of how many billions of babies a year are prevented by deliberate interference with Natural Law? Those babies are thwarted for convenience and profit as well. Angry yet? Think of all the geniuses and prima ballerinas never born because Mom and/or Dad selfishly wanted to screw around a bit before settling down. I'd be just as non-existent and just as unable to voice my opinion.
This isn't sophistry, Dan Beyer. It speaks directly to the reason, which may be VERY difficult to understand, why all thinking, caring people don't immediately become pro-lifers on presentation of the "facts."
Edith, in all seriousness
Let me ask you this one thing: Aren't you grateful that you weren't aborted? I mean that seriously. Obviously we don't agree on some things. But had you not been allowed the right to be born your voice would not be heard now. Don't you think that would have been a horrible thing? Whoever you are you have the right to life and you have the right to speak your mind. 48 million brothers and sisters of yours didn't. For inconvenience and profit.
How incredibly sad don't you think?
You're doing it again
The only people you're reaching are Phill Kline supporters. There are so few of them they couldn't get out enough votes to defeat another REPUBLICAN, in a Republican district. And if you ever graduate from forensic kindergarten you'll realize that blaming the Star for Phill Kline's incredible unpopularity AMONG REPUBLICANS AND AMONG INTELLIGENT, EDUCATED CONSERVATIVES buys you nothing but that warm, runny feeling of self-righteousness.
See, DanBeyer--read your own post. The other side is "hateful," "pro-death," "corrupt," "racketeering," "weak," "brazen," "easily led," "haters," and, oh, yes, a "mob." You got all that filth in two short paragraphs. Your girlfriend thinks you're wonderful, the people you have coffee with at work think you're wonderful, you have your name in the paper, and, oh, yeah, the abortions continue unabated.
By their fruits ye shall know them: note that the "caring" pro-life person is the one with the filthy mouth, shrieking imprecations at anyone who doesn't see the Truth As Promulgated by Dan Beyer. All this proves is that you're really not interested in stopping abortion, you're interested in walking around with your chest puffed out calling people names.
Amen sister!
As long as people like you attack others that don't agree with you, the more people see the difference between the caring pro-life and the hateful pro-death people.
On the subject of Phill Kline, he as a law enforcement officer is simply attempting to have Planned Parenthood Inc. follow the laws which they brazenly break without consequences. As long as you have this woefully corrupt "newspaper" being Planned Parenthood Inc.'s mouthpiece, anyone who tries to hold that racketeering organization accountable will be viciously attacked again and again. And as long as there are people out there that are too weak to think or research for themselves, there will always be a mob of easily led haters that the Planned Parenthood Inc. Top Award Winner, the Star can manipulate.
Preach, brother
Actually, DanBeyer, more and more people including young people aren't agreeing with your version of reality. See how easy that is? I want you to trust me on this: have I ever lied to you before?
If you sincerely believed in what you propose you'd look to the many actual arguments that call into question the many assertions about the right to an abortion that many, many thoughtful people are bothered by. You'd consider it a triumph to get ONE conversion from on the fence to pro-life. Then you'd do that again and again till you could make yourself feel you've actually made a difference.
The alternative is cawing about Nazis and rivers of blood and the damnation of America. Look to Phill Kline: instead of a hero you should see a vampire. He can't get past the primaries in a heavily Republican district. He made the pro-life movement look like nutjobs. But he'll spend the rest of his life chalking up big fees speaking to pro-life groups and soaking up little cheese sandwiches and tropical punch.
Has Phill Kline ever prevented ONE abortion?
Calm down Edith
No need to go into frenzy mode.
You don't agree with me, fine. But more and more people including young people aren't agreeing with your version of reality.
Yeah yeah yeah
Sarah Palin wasn't elevated by the GOP, she was chosen by a senile coot trying desperately to put sand under the wheels of his pathetic candidacy. He's proven once again that the Navy was 100% spot on passing him over for flag command.
Talking to people all the time isn't what I said, nor is the fact that your girlfriend reports, under penalty of perjury, that she's surrounded by anti-choice at work. The question is, how many people's minds have you changed through persuasion and revelation who were undecided about the question of when life begins before you started? Here's a clue, genius: raving about Nazis and genocide isn't going to get you squat besides a sore throat.
You apparently are never going to understand that if you want people to be upset about 48 million dead babies, you have to convince them that there are 48 million dead babies to be upset about. Shrieking that there are 48 million dead babies to be avenged AND THEN CALLING ANYONE WHO DOESN'T IMMEDIATELY LEAP TO YOUR SIDE WITH SWORD DRAWN A HEARTLESS NAZI BLOODTHIRSTY MURDERING LIBERAL simply shows that you're a fool who's too lazy to make the effort to persuade, and prefers the thought of himself waving the banner of truth from a high pinnacle, calling down heavenly fire on the wicked. You're selfish and self-indulgent, so concerned with getting attention that you post under what may or may not be your real name. Pathetic.
Shine a light into Edith's bunker
Gov. Sarah Palin was elevated by the GOP while Hillary Clinton was unceremoniously and disrespectfully dumped on by the Democrat Party.
As far as abortion, I talk to people all the time about it. My girlfriend says they're are many pro-life people in the office where she works and have shared many things with her. We just recently discovered that The Salvation Army gives to Planned Parenthood Inc.!
The Nazi analogy is accurate because Margaret Sanger who started Planned Parenthood Inc. did so for the express purpose to cleanse minorities from the population, just like her friends the Nazi Party that she was connected with, wanted to do. Planned Parenthood Inc. also targets minorities that's why over 80% of all PP abortion mills are located in minority neighborhoods.
With a number of 48 million babies slaughtered so far and steadily counting, abortions are not rare! With that monstrous number growing at a rate of over 3700 babies murdered every day, over 93% of them because of inconvenience, more and more people are getting turned off by this mass genocide.
By the way, in the time it took you to read this, 3 more babies were killed for convenience's sake.
Again no alternative offered
just insulting those who oppose the Amerikan Holocaust. My betters? Trash like you? If you and Shelly are my betters then so was Pol Pot, Josef Stalin, Mao Tse Tung, Idi Amin and Adolph Hitler. They're your predecessors and your whining and sniveling won't change that and you know it, you racist pig.
No, Mainstream_Coalition,
No, Mainstream_Coalition, what'll stop this horrifying slaughter is calling pro-lifers colorful and alliterative names. What a complete fool you are. Look in the mirror and ask yourself if you see someone who has EVER changed anyone's mind on abortion, or if you're a brainless boob who enjoys slandering their betters. I once again thank you for the important part you and your kind play in keeping abortion safe, legal, and rare, by absolutely ensuring that no one with a functioning forebrain could ever possibly agree with you and your position.
Live long and prosper.
Note Shelly's assumption
that real women are calloused bimbos willing to kill a baby at the drop of a hat. Really? Do we actually think that rational debate will put a dent in the heart of this 21st century Bitch of Belsen?
Libs love abortion because they think the right babies are dying. It's reflected in the research findings they do on crime and it's an extension of Margaret Sanger's racist vision where the black and the brown babies are aborted out of existence.
The only difference between Shelly and David Duke is that he doesn't hide his racism behind some "noble" sentiment about defending a woman's "right" to chose to murder her own baby. Abortion for liberals is simply a coward's path to welfare reform.
People who commit holocausts
are not persuaded by the appeasers. They are only defeated in battle.
Amerika has slaughtered 50 million of its own children. They weren't drug off in the night by the Gestapo, they were delivered to the death camps by their "mothers" so they could avoid taking responsibility for their own actions.
The few that are actually the result of rape, or incest could easily be adopted (particularly if we eliminated some of the stupidity liberals have inflicted on that process).
How many millions more will die waiting for whatever process you think will magically arise to save them? The simple answer is that you have none, you're just another Nazi making excuses for the crimes against humanity of the baby killers while you pretend to give a damn.
And once again, we thank the Mainstream Coalition...
A new one, or is this Dan Beyer posting under a different name? One more dimwit who would rather vent than win, one more trog who wants to call its friends and neighbors Nazis, bloody-handed baby butchers, and, (good one, Mainstream) Gestapo Majors, because it's much, much easier to spew hatred than to convince even one person on the line about abortion to change their mind. Rave on, Mainstream Coalition, secure in the knowledge that you follow in the tiny, birdlike footsteps of Phill Kline, Kris Kobach, and the rest of the right-wing Republican fools who would rather lose election after election than try to persuade sensible people that abortion kills actual babies. That's hard work; you don't really want to change things, you want to feel justified in your self-righteousness. I can rest easier knowing that fifty years from now your stupidity will have kept the pro-life movement hemmed in and walled off from mainstream America, and abortion will remain safe, legal, and (hopefully) rare.
Doof.
What a gamble
In my mind, this pick (gamble) comes down to balancing two major things. McCain steals Obama's post-convention hype vs. removing his ability to talk up Obama's inexperience. There are other factors, as I point out here:
10 Reasons Why Palin Will Win And Lose The Election For McCain
but that is the major gamble that the McCain campaign took with this selection.
The differences between Hillary and Sarah
Sarah likes men, Hillary, like Bill, likes women. Sarah brought to full term and raised a child that Hillary (and Shelly) would have killed. Sarah is a reformer who has cleaned up corruption in her party. Hillary is part of the corruption in hers. Sarah actually lived in the state she was elected from. Sarah made it on her own, not her husband's coattails. Sarah's not only bright, but also an eyeful. Cut Hillary off at the waste and you could use the bottom half for the municipal water tower(s) of Minneapolis/St.Paul.
There is no right to take innocent life. Rights are something God given and that only God can take away. Abortion is a neo-Nazi construct employed by women with the personality of a Gestapo Major as a consumer tool to eliminate the results of their irresponsible sexual behavior. Up yours Shelly.
Chill...
Indyguy, are they charging you extra for caps and periods?
am I supposed to take your opinion serioulsly
you are on the editorial board and you misspell "adamantly"? Is this the best the Star could do? you are so blindly pro-obama that you have lost all objectivity and spelling skills
Here is an e-mail I just got:
Lordy, Lordy, Lordy! . . . We get a little BEAUTY QUEEN for a possible VP, to go with a little old man.
What a charming, delightful picture they will make, right out of Playboy magazine.
Am I to assume that there simply was not one single QUALIFIED, SERIOUS REPUBLICAN WOMAN in this entire country? . . . What an insult to all the women in the Republican Party.
And what an insult to American voters!
Actually Barb, Hillary isn't exactly "everywoman" either
While Hillary was certainly in the public eye longer, there is a sense of national division that follows her like very few others in this country despite the way this week was largely devoted to celebrating her tenacious presidential primary campaign.
In the end the "dues" of her exstensive experience are boot strapped from 16 years as first lady in Washington D.C. and Little Rock to just over seven years in the U.S. Senate.
Many home makers, soccer moms, and professional women on the baby track remember being dissed by a headband wearing Hillary "Rodham", senior partner in the Rose law firm who didn't bake cookies or stand by her man like some "little Tammy Wynette".
Let's not be too quick to compare these two and find one wanting compared to the other. That would just be more evidence of how rare a thing a female nomination for vice-president truly is when it should no longer be. Judging Gov. Sarah Palin on her own merits should do nicely for most voters, men and women alike.
Whatever, Interface
But to Barb's "outrage", its just laugh worthy.
And I get tired of people who think abortion is the only issue under the heading "Women's Rights".
As soon as Biden was chosen, I knew McCain was going to take Palin. Just knew it.
of course
Obama has more years in elective office than Clinton.
Just keepin' it real, Jenny.
I just won $100!!!
"She hasn't paid her dues yet."
This from an Obama fan? Pot, meet kettle.
And your thoughts on Obama?
So, do you consider him leaping forward when he mentions Lincoln, Kennedy, Clinton with so little dues paying and experience?
What abpout Michelle Obama complimenting Clinton in the same way? Did she do worng?
Double standard here Barb.
