Hey, you'll never hear me saying Phill Kline is a one-issue candidate. He is ALL OVER this cockfighting bust.
A news release from Kline's office:
Olathe, KS – Johnson County District Attorney Phill Kline filed a total of 345 criminal charges against two men in connection with a Sheriff’s Department raid on a farm near Gardner, Kansas. Fernando Tapia was charged with 172 counts of unlawful conduct of cockfighting, and Juan Carlos Rodriguez-Machain was charged with one count of obstruction of official duty and 172 counts of unlawful conduct of cockfighting.
“Our office is working closely with several agencies as the investigation proceeds,” Kline said. “This was a big operation and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office did a great job managing everything.”
I thought it was dramatic when Kline filed 107 charges against Planned Parenthood. But 345 charges against two defendants? Never let it be said the Johnson County district attorney isn't prolific.

I canot tell you how glad I am to see our fine JoCo D.A. busting a huge cockfighting ring.
Glad to see he has his priorities straight.
I am assuming Edwin Hall is now convicted and awaiting the needle on death row....
Wait a minute? He is not?
Good thing PK divided his time to include this huge prioirty Cockfighting case.
I may not have been able to sleep this week, knowing this illegal ring was still operating in JoCo.
Please get rid of PK, he is making JoCo look like KCMO City Council, and the KCMO School Board.
