I see that Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius has joined Barack Obama in warning Americans to watch out for the GOP playing the race card this fall. Heck, the Democrats are already doing that, to a degree.
As if people didn't know Obama is black, Sebelius and others are saying that Republicans would "try and frighten people about him" because of his race.
The Democrats are throwing out what they consider to be code words that might be used by people who don't want a black president.
Sebelius offered up "he’s not qualified" and "he's too liberal" as potential code words.
Obama said he might be called "inexperienced" and "young."
Say what?
A lot of Democrats didn't think Obama was well-qualified to be president. That's part of the reason why millions voted for Hillary Clinton in the primaries.
Face it: There are plenty of racist Americans who won't vote for Obama because he's black. We all know that.
But let's not allow Obama, Sebelius and others to chill the discussion -- by the GOP or Americans of all parties -- about Obama's actual qualifications for the presidency.

And you are NOT playing the race card here...? Surely this isn't OLD MAID!
The Race Card
Yes they are playing the race card and I don't like it. Gov. Sebelius has a lot of nerve when her son has the most racist game ever! She's the last one to be talking about race. Check out "don't drop the soap" board game - it was created by her son - with her blessing of course. As Govenor - I expected more responsibility and concern for minorities in Kansas. The game board pieces are just amazingly racist. I would rather Gov. Sebelius not say anything during this campaign - she'll only make matters worse for Obama.
Given the rampant corruption
among inner city politicians (think Terry Riley, Emmanual Cleaver, our car wash magnate, and others) we would be well served to thoroughly vet B. Hussein Obama. even more so if he picks as his VP a candidate like Kathleen Sebelius who I suspect would go down in Kansas history as our most corrupt governor if we had newspapers willing to publish her misdeeds.
Actually, No.
Actually, no, Obama would not be well served by addressing specifics. He's a master at promising "change" from the current screwed-up administration (I voted for GWB, but am greatly disappoited). Obama's specifics are way too liberal for this country. He's gotten this far by hiding his true allegiances (disavowing them only after being exposed). He's too bright to campaign on his merits (he's not qualified either). He's campaigning against the current administration, and trying to link McCain to Bush at every opportunity.
Yes.
Yes.
BRAVO!
Great point, Yael. I have a new-found respect for you.
You are one of the few journalists willing to address Obama's game. I can only surmise that the majority of "journalists" are blinded by their leanings, and/or afraid of being branded a "racist" (by the way, we're all racist to a degree. The ones who decry racism the loudest are generally trying to over compensate for something).
Racist Votes?
Face it, there are plenty of racist Americans who won't vote for McCain because he is white. Is that not the same thing?
OBAMA’S ARTISTRY OF THE AMBIGUOUS
Obama would be well served by his hired help if it could move him to specifics on numerous critical fronts.
Voters are looking for definitive action while they battle overwhelming increases in costs on all fronts.
