Roger Merryfield Midwest Voices Panelist 2008
I can tolerate gas prices of $4.00 per gallon as long as I know that:
1) No one in private industry profits from it (or government can seize them if they do), at least 10% is taxes that cannot be reduced, the price discourages other people from driving and therefore conserves energy and preserves the environment.
2) It is required to cover the actual costs of finding the oil, extracting it from the ground, refining it, shipping it, and selling it to me, and includes no more than a reasonable, competitive profit margin for those businesses.

It's a satirical quiz - choose your answer from the typical liberal progressive point of view (#1) or the more common sense and practical answer (#2), which (I thought it might be apparent) is more my own view.
Calm down, read, and listen before you leap into the insults.
But it's OK, there will be more quiz questions coming on Homeland (In)Security and Progressive Economics for you to test your knowledge.
