Yes, Chiefs play Sunday. Yes, they won't win
I’m a huge sports fan and, naturally, will be rooting for the Chiefs to win Sunday in New Orleans.
But they won’t be victorious.
Sure, the Saints are 0-2, just like the Chiefs.
As The New York Times points out in an intriguing analysis, however, the Saints are poised to improve their record and could become one of the rare teams to make the playoffs after an 0-2 start.
The Chiefs, it turns out, get no love from The Times.
Why? Because they’ve lost BIG to both Atlanta and Buffalo so far.
Their quarterback isn’t very good, their running game is almost non-existent and the defense - well, the less said about the defense, the better.
The Chiefs are so bad, it turns out, that even non-sports fans will be rooting for the team this Sunday.
It’s no fun, after all, to come to work Monday to see depressed football fans moping around the office, talking with gallows humor about how much money they are wasting by having Chiefs season tickets.
At least I don’t have that problem. Maybe I’m not a big enough Chiefs fan after all.
