For those who believe that every pregnancy should be wanted, today is your day.

It is World Contraception Day. The anti-abortion folks should love this.

However, International Planned Parenthood Federation is behind World Contraception Day in partnership with RH Reality Check. They take a look at how contraception is viewed in the United States.

No responsible parent would allow a teenager to ride in a car with no seatbelts or airbags. No responsible parent would fail to provide their teen with contraceptive care.

Today is a great day to give your kid a large box of condoms. Assure him/her that you don’t care if he/she graduates for high school a virgin — or from college, either. And you don’t care if they share with their friends who are too shy to buy them (like poor Levi Whatshisname in Alaska). Pay attention to when you need to buy more.

You want your child and his/her future SAFE.

That is what good parents do.

Phil’s is a typical lib “solution” to a problem. Cover it up and For Heaven’s sake don’t introduce personal responsibility into the mix…..

And we wonder why our children are confused…….

What most conservative legislators and clergy miss is that contraception has to do with the freedom of women to decide how, when, and by whom they will bear children. Their choice, their decision, their freedom, their personal responsibility for their own bodies.

They have no shame Chuck… They allow the cardshark to make unfounded or clearly false accusations against Romney without a deletion….

YT has the power of the delete button though……

Perhaps I am misunderstood. I do not encourage teens to have sex — just to be careful and responsible if they do so. Losing one’s virginity as a male or female is not an “achievement”, but behaving responsibly to avoid unwanted pregnancy is.

I agree that “simply throwing a box of condoms on the table” is not sufficient. But, making contraceptives easily and embarrassment-free available is a prerequisite to maintianing responsible options.

Discussion of personal responsibility is good, but not sufficient. No one was stronger on that idea — linked to abstinence-only — than Gov. Sarah Palin.

Chuckles, your sons were focused and fortunate. Levi Johnston was not so lucky. And he had nowhere to get “supplies” in a small town where everybody knew who he was dating.

Remember what Reagan said: Trust but verify.
