Tensions with China, tensions with Russia? What year is it?
Ongoing tensions with China and Russia bring back memories of Cold War days, when authorities in those countries and the United States had their fingers on nuclear triggers and were ready to pull it.
Thankfully they didn’t. However, Russia’s top military officer, Chief of General Staff Nikolai Makarov, has threatened a pre-emptive strike on U.S.-led NATO missile defense sites in Eastern Europe if the U.S. constructs a planned missile shield. Didn’t the U.S. get similarly upset over Russia’s plans in Cubain the 1960s?
Like fashion, everything old is new again.
Add to that Chinese dissident Chen Guangcheng creating a furor between the U.S. and China over first wanting out of the communist nation, then deciding to stay, then flipflopping and wanting out.
What is Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to do with all of these internationally very upset, emotionally distraught men, threatening the stability of the world.

1 year agoDon’t worry. The Russian relationship was reset after the last election. We have already removed our missiles from Poland, and after re-election, Mr. Obama will have more room to unilaterally disarm.
By the way, the Cuban missiles were offensive, nuclear weapons. The missiles we are removing are defensive missile interceptors that are used to shoot down incoming nukes. They were installed to specifically intercept Iran missiles. Again, no worries. The world now respects our President and will take no offensive action, CoGS Makarov China, N. Korea and Iran notwithstanding.
