St. Paul school big loss to Northeast
The Kansas City Star
The Northeast Area will lose the St. Paul School of Theology in the fall of 2013.
The United Methodist seminary over the weekend announced that its main campus would move to the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood. The pullout adds to the decades-long exodus of hospitals, businesses, churches and population from the urban core of Kansas City.
The campus has been at 5123 E. Truman Road since 1965, The Kansas City Star reports. Finding a new similarly reputable tenant for that property will be difficult.
The vacancy will add to boarded up Kansas City Public Schools, unoccupied housing, businesses, churches and the long-shuttered steel plant in the Northeast.
