Special Ops group to run ads criticizing Obama

The Special Operations OPSEC Education Fund Inc. says it’s not linked to any party or campaign, but plans to bash President Obama for taking credit for the bin Laden killing. It also criticizes the administration for leaking high-level material that the group says endangers American lives.

The obvious parallel here would be the Swift Boat campaign of ‘04, although the campaign by this group is not likely to have the same effect. Obama has already taken shots over the administration’s bin Laden statements and leaks of sensitive material.

Still, it’s another problem for the Obama campaign to have a bunch of Special Forces and CIA operatives criticizing the president. It puts a bit of a smudge on the bin Laden raid — significant because other than that, the administration doesn’t have much else to brag about in foreign policy.

.. I bet if we knew where the money cam from it would tell a different tale. I’d also bet that they’re a 501c3 so we’ll never know.

Article printed in same paper: Chad Kolton, who was spokesman for the director of national intelligence in the Bush administration and now represents the OPSEC group, said that because it was classified as a 501©(4) educational group under tax laws, it was not required to identify donors. He said the group had raised nearly $1 million since June

The telling FACTS about the security leak is the difference in the “investigation” of this and Valerie Plame.

Valerie Phame, a low level CIA employee, was supposedly leaked vs. outing herself. This was investigated by a special prosecutor who eventually presented findings to a Grand Jury. Libby was of course convicted for lying—

Now we have Eric, the defender of justice for his side, Holder investigating a much more serious leak with DOJ employees. The press, aka lame stream media, is not up in arms at this as contrasted to the bitching about Plame.

Does holder get indicted for lying to Congress since there won’t be a special prosecutor you can be absolutely sure!

Where is the outrage from you libs??????

George: The outrage around Plame centered on how she was punished because her hubby had exposed one of the lies used by Bush/Chaney to get us to invade Iraq. Lies that cost 4500+ American lives.

Or are you still looking for those WMDs?

Here is what we do know about the cowardly contributors to this slimey group: Like Mitt, they have the kind of money to launder into this phoney organization.

And, their names will remain secret just like his tax returns.

Oh, and what is so serious about these leaks? Did Iran think its computers were being attacked by Equador? Did Al Qaida think Hellfire missles were actually cases of spontaneous combustion?

Leaks are not serious when the ONLY people being protected from the information are the taxpayers and voters.

Mark, looks like you lost your bet on the 501c3(4) issue. How much did you lose?
