Silly polls make others hard to believe
Few people put a lot of stock in polls in the lead up to elections.
That’s partly because some polls focus on the silliest things. An example appeared today in The Kansas City Star asking people which presidential candidate would come out the victor in an actual fistfight.
The news media and political wonks often use fight motifs when discussing candidates and outcomes in elections so the poll kind of makes sense. But not really.
The Langer Research poll of 1,002 adults conducted for Esquire and Yahoo News picked President Barack Obama over Republican challenger Mitt Romney — 58 percent to 22 percent. The undecideds actually may have gotten it right at 20 percent possibly signifying that they just don’t care.

8 months, 1 week agoA better poll would be Joe Biden vs. Paul Ryan. Sure Ryan is younger and fitter but Joe’s an veteran brawler. I’d go with Joe in early rounds but he’d have to put Ryan away quickly.
I’ve got it!!! We’ll have Nathan’s sponsor a hot dog eating contest and settle the whole thing!
