Romney's energy policy: drill, baby, drill

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s energy policy sounds a lot like Sarah Palin’s: Drill, baby, drill.

Romney wants to expand off-shore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, Virginia and North Carolina. He also wants to drill in Alaska’s federal wildlife reserve.

It’s all for North American energy independence by 2020.

It sounds more like a bad prescription to further sicken the planet, already suffering the effects of global warming. Romney should have pushed for more solar, wind and geothermal energy use as well as greater conservation efforts and new battery technology.

The GOP has railed against such things promoted by President Barack Obama. If Romney had pushed any such green nonsense, it would have doubled over Republicans at their national convention next week like an outbreak of hernias at a weight-lifters’ convention.

No Lewis. Romney is actually smart and well educated, as opposed to a partisan hack.
