Romney gaffs overseas revealing

Lewis Diuguid

Perhaps Mitt Romney should have stayed home and watched the Olympics on TV and continued to read about the Middle East conflict in newspapers and magazines.

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee would have made fewer foreign policy mistakes and not revealed how unprepared he is to represent the United States from the White House.

First he offended the British commenting last week that they seemed unprepared for the Olympics. It is unwise to be so critical about people in another country after they have gone all out for such a major world event.

Then Romney this week upset Palestinians saying the Israeli economy had outpaced the Palestinians’ because of the Israeli “culture.” Huh?

“It is a racist statement, and this man doesn’t realize that the Palestinian economy cannot reach its potential because there is an Israeli occupation,” said Saeb Erekat, a senior aide to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, told The Associated Press.

When Mr. Diuguid wants to talk about The One discussing how much easier it would be to be President (read: Dictator) of China…

or how his white house got caught lying about removing the bust of Winston Churchill from the White House and that there is no “special relationship” with Britain…

or how he pulled out from Polish missile defense on the very day of the 70th anniversary of the Russian invasion of Poland…

or how his speech sandbagging Netanyahu before a White House visit, calling for a withdrawal to 1949 borders in contravention of decades of US policy, took our relationship with our strongest ally to a new low….

or telling Medvedev to tell the Dictator Putin that he will have “more flexibility after the election”, or insulting and undermining Netanyahu to Sarkozy by saying “I have to deal with him all the time”….

not to mention the bazillion times he has mucked something up because he’s off telepromter, like the signing ceremony this week for aid to Israel where he couldn’t remember whether it was $70 million or billion dollars to Israel (of course $70 billion is more than our entire foreign aid budget, but does he know that?)….

When Lewis wants to discuss these items, then we will consider him something other than the racist partisan hack we know him to be.

Also, is criticizing someone’s pathetic “culture” akin to being a “racist”? Kinda thought you had to be critical of someone’s race to be a racist.

I have a biiiig problem with most of the “cultures” of the middle east. The violence against women, the open hostility and forced removal of anyone who doesn’t accept the Koran (like the near-genocidal removal of Christians in the region that has been allowed under the nose of The One), the hatred and outright persecution of gays and lesbians, the constant harangue about the jews and the open calls for the destruction of Israel, the lack of any real level of individual freedom in the entire region EXCEPT in Israel, the clitorectomies, the burkas, the honor killings, ad nauseum….

Does this mean I am a racist? If being against these things as practices all over the middle east is racism, then string me up baby….

Remember in 2005 when the Israelis pulled out of Gaza and the Palestinians rushed in and destroyed millions of dollars worth of heavy-duty producing greenhouses because they were built by Jews? And Romney is criticized for criticizing THAT culture? Really?

    earth to lewis #27….

I would much prefer a President who supports our allies(Israel & Poland) then one that tosses them under the bus and instead goes for “engagement” with the Muslim terrorists whose only goal in life is to murder us.

Keep up the funnies lewis, they continue to show the race-is-everything-universe you live in!!!

I am sure lewis is working on a blog covering this, so I will give you this as a teaser for lewis’ post….

When Obama stopped in at Master Lock in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he was walking the plant and stopped to talk with a plant employee and looked up at the banner hanging on the wall and said to the worker and people around him, “It is great to be in a union shop, especially one as old as this union is ” - - - - pointing to the banner. He then said, “A Union shop since 1848” - - - and then he went on to talk on what that banner stood for and how important it was to display it and show your union support. The worker then said to Obama that it was the flag of the State of Wisconsin - - which was founded in 1848, and that the shop was Non-Union.This was only reported by a local radio station in Milwaukee (1130AM) and not by the major news networks - - - they didn’t want to embarrass this “got no friggin’ clue” President! Since they didn’t do their job of reporting on this presidential visit, the only way for the news to get around is by us - on the Internet. The White House media said he skipped Wisconsin & just went to Minn & Chicago. Do your job; I just did mine, so voters will know what really happened here and just HOW BRIGHT THIS PRESIDENT REALLY IS !!!??? NOT!

George, we all fall prey to misinformation at times, and I know I want to be told when I am wrong.
