Romney crushes Obama in presidential debate
(UPDATE AT 10:30) Mitt Romney crushed Barack Obama in the first presidential debate Wednesday night.
And you know the Democrats are in trouble when the libs at MSNBC are saying the Republican presidential candidate did far better in getting his points across.
As for Democrats, they simply have to hope Obama’s poor performance does not widen the enthusiasm gap they have been worried about on Nov. 6.
On Wednesday night:
Romney was aggressive.
Obama was timid.
Romney brought up specifics.
Obama brought up meaningless personal stories.
Romney explained his Medicare and medical care plans clearly.
Obama stumbled over his answers all night long.
Democrats were practically yelling on Twitter and at their TV sets all night long for Obama to talk about Romney’s reckless disregard for the 47 percent of America — yet Obama never mentioned it.
Now, one good point for Obama:
The truth watch squads will be out in the next 24 to 48 hours, pointing out some of the factual holes in Romney’s answers on Wednesday night.
That will hurt Romney - if Obama is on his game in the next few weeks.
But for now, Romney wins on style - and that’s what counted with a lot of voters who were looking for some differences between the candidates on Wednesday night.

8 months, 2 weeks agoI’m a strong Obama supporter, but I agree that Romney seemed to be more in control. In fact, Jim Lehrer didn’t seem in control either. He needs a gavel or a timing light or something.

8 months, 2 weeks agoYael, Romney won not only on style, but more importantly, he won on substance. You said it yourself, “Romney brought up specifics. Obama brought up meaningless personal stories.” Obama did what Obama does best, resort to personality because he could turn to nothing else. Most people like Obama as a person. As a president however, he’s inept. He had no substance on which to stand. And instead of pointing out Obama’s obvious faults on unemployment, the economy, foreign affairs, you point out with anxious anticipation that fact checkers will surely find fault with Romney’s positions. You didn’t mention any mis-statements on Romney’s part but seemed to feel sure some would be found and they’re bound to hurt Romney. I suppose that could be true. I wish you had provided some yourself instead of simply hoping that it happens. Thankfully though, Obama is safe from that. Fact-checkers can’t find fault in meaningless personal stories.

No, no, no.
I disagree.
Pres. Obama healed the Earth. The Oceans’ rise began to fall.
Hope. Change. Smart power. Food stamps.
And the Mid East is on fire.
It’s all good.

8 months, 2 weeks agoIt is impossible for the big 0 to win based on FACTS, i.e. his record.
Unemployment over 8% for 43 MONTHS. The deficit, which he promised to halve up over 5 TRILLION with nothing but further deficits in jimmy II’s “plan” and stealing money from Medicare to pay for 0care….
Yup Suzanne, is is all Lehrer’s “fault” for FINALLY letting someone challenge the 4 years of poor performance, we have to “let him go”……

8 months, 2 weeks agoYT, I wish 0 had talked about the 47%. Then Romney could have talked about the clearly racist tapes Daily Caller posted when 0 was talking about Katrina and people living in the burbs.
You libs let 0 pander to Black America and never hold his administration to account for same. What would you have done if a R had said “they gonna put you all back in chains” to a mostly black audience? Hint: a continual barrage of posts bemoaning how racist this comment was. Biden says it and there is never a word of criticism.
But this is fair and balanced in the lib lame stream media world…. ROTFLMAO
Jimmy II has not performed, and it is “time to let him go”….

8 months, 2 weeks agoCrushed is a bit much.
A sitting Prez often does not do as well as hoped in an initial debate. A challenger’s only job is campaigning. The Prez still has to run the country and its foreign policy (like how & who to bomb when).
If you were going to score the debate as a debate, Obama wins hands down: He pressed on the issues, boxed Mitt in on vouchers for Medicare and got him to lie clumsily about his tax plan — all good for future fodder.
Unfortunately, Mitt did his best imitation of a human, while Obama’s low-key style was not what the political junkies wanted. But, “cool” is a good thing in a president (and “angry” is the worst thing a Black guy can be, especially on stage with an older white guy.)
Now, he did seem a bit distracted — which probably should worry some guys in Lybia as much as Axelrod.

8 months, 2 weeks agoPhil, sorry, but polls of watchers gave Romney the highest rating ever in a presidential poll. He crushed Obama.
(oh and it is Libya - it looks like you are talking about female anatomy.)
