Powell endorses Obama for re-election
Former Secretary of State Colin Powell again picked the better candidate for president with his endorsement of Barack Obama for re-election.
Powell, a Republican, in 2008 chose Obama over John McCain. On “CBS This Morning” Powell cited the winding down of the war in Afghanistan under President Obama as a reason behind his decision.
Powell also criticized Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney for foreign policy inconsistencies — something Obama pointed out several times in his debate with Romney this week. Such mixed signals confuse U.S. troops and America’s allies.
The retired general’s endorsement showed that he looks past his party affiliation to side with the best person to lead the country.

7 months, 3 weeks agoWhat is most scary is that these candidates have been, and are being elected by “the people”. Ultimately, we are responsible for the drek and the dazzle we elect and it appears there is lots of drek across the country. Todd Akin’s district includes St. Louis and St. Charles, I believe. that population in that district has lots of explaining to do.

Don’t you mean Sarah Palin? LOL!, Really General Powell is a man of character and gravitas. He’s young enough to have many years of service to his country ahead of him I hope at the national level.

7 months, 3 weeks agoYou mean the same Colin Powell who strongly opposed Ronald Reagan using the line: “Mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall,” in his historic and world changing speech at the Brandenberg Gate on June 12, 1987. So much for Colin Powell judgement. His support of Obama is pathetic. It’s largely about race. It can’t be on merit. Obama has been a near total disaster, and Obamacare would essentially end the country. Powell just wants to stay in favor with the Washington D.C. party scene crowd. And he so hates pro-lifers and conservatives in general. Thank you. Mark Robertson Independence
