Planned Parenthood laughing all the way to the bank

Talk about irony. And unintended consequences.

Planned Parenthood is making lots of extra money thanks to the decision by the Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s decision - after years of successful cooperation - to cut off funding for the organization.

Planned Parenthood appears to be on the way to collecting north of $1 million in new money from outraged supporters - and from people upset by Komen’s move earlier this week.

Among the latest funders: New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg saying he’ll match $250,000 from other donors.

Poor Komen. It’s a group doing good work in the field of breast cancer. Here’s the video from founder Nancy G. Brinker, defending the Planned Parenthood decision. As of early Friday, the “unlikes” were trumping the “likes” by a 4-to-1 margin, not surprisingly.

And here’s a story that says Komen is also raking in extra funds, thanks to backers who want the group to survive this controversy.

In its desire to appease the anti-abortion crowd, Komen irritated the many supporters of Planned Parenthood - a group that provides all kinds of pro-women services. Yes, including legal abortions.

The contrived outrage of the left is worthy of SNL parodies which, of course, will never be seen……

A relatively prominent charity, laser focused on breast cancer research and dedicated to finding a cure for an insidious affliction is villified by the pro abortion lefties for a principled action.

The principle that inspired their correct decision is truth and honesty against the deceitful acceptance of Komen funds by PP under the ruse that they provide breast cancer screenings, mammagrams and tests…..which the vast majority of locations are unable to provide.

They mistakenly bow to a “politically correct” announcement…..saying that they no loner fund those “under investigation.” That was their lone error in my view.

Komen should simply have gone public with the findings of their own research which revealed that 91% of randomly surveyed locations of Planned Parenthood provided ABSOLUTELY NO breast cancer screenings, tests or services. (28 of 30). None. Zero. Nada. Zilch.

The budget of Planned Parenthood Federation of America and its affiliates for fiscal year 2006-2007 was $1,017,900,000—over one billion dollars. The taxpayers funded 336 million dollars of that budget.

Komen relies on hundreds of corporate sponsors and partners for foundational funding and the generosity of private donors for the vast majority of their budget.

So we have a billion dollar taxpayer funded organization which loses less than ONE TENTH OF 1 PERCENT of their funding (which they have been less than forthright in accepting).

Railing against Komen is a positively perfect example of the dissociative disconnection of the irrational left.

PP has, as YT smugly points out, already doubled their “komen loss” in donation spikes. Great! Happy for em! …….but that is not good enough for the merdia hypocrits of the left. They now focus their venom on the destruction of a perfectly just and worthy charity.

Chuck Close, good comments. Unfortuelty there is has been a new development, and Komen caved in to the pressure.
