Obama can help make King's dreams come true

President Barack Obama’s inauguration speech on Monday was the second edition of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech.

In August of 1963, King was looking over into the Promised Land from the platform of the U.S. Constitution. He was one of the messengers of the Civil Rights Movement anointed to challenge the conscience of America’s power elite.

Obama’s generation has enjoyed some of the fruits of the Promised Land but he understands that there is more work to be done.

It will be interesting to see if the policies enacted during Obama’s second term will bring America closer to the fulfillment of King’s dream.

He won’t. In fact there is nothing in his history or his character, as far as I can tell, that would indicate that he is interested in such a thing.

Here’s why; King meant his speech, meant it from the core of his being. Obama didn’t mean a word. He is a product of the left, and the left has spent the last five decades since the dream speech making sure we ignore people’s character in favor of the color of their skin.

Describing Obama as a leftist is hilarious.

Obamacare IS Romneycare IS the conservative Heritage Foundation’s policy initiative. Cap & Trade is a GOP idea — a very capitalist way of cutting emissions by rewarding efficiency. He has deported more illegals and prosecuted more whistleblowers than W. His “anti-gun” measures are those supported by Reagan — whose tax rates were higher!

Back when the GOP was still sane — and did not think “science” was the work of evil heretics — Obama would barely qualify as a moderate Republican. On lots of things, NIXON was more liberal!
