Alaska Airlines, which has flights out of Kansas City International Airport, had a plane recently in which a passenger saw from a window a note saying, “We know about this.”

This” was what appeared to be a damaged area on the wing of the plane. A story today in The Star notes that the July 28 situation created quite the stir.

But a spokeswoman for the Seattle-based airline said Tuesday that there truly was nothing to concern the passengers. A trim repair was done to the corner flap of the right wing.

A maintenance worker left the note for the flight crew. The note was later removed.

Does anyone remember that “Twilight Zone” episode in which a gremlin, visible only to one passenger on a plane, was ripping apart a wing? Picture that!

This sums it up for me… Mendacity, Mendacity!
