Moon shot for a billion dollars? Plah-eese!

It’s hard to imagine having a billion dollars let alone what to do with it.

But at least one company wants to book billionaires on a rocket ship to the moon. It will cost $750 million a ticket. Millionaires need not apply.

The hoi polloi will be entertained as always by the ride for the rich being offered by the start-up Golden Spike Co. Led by former NASA executives, the company sees 2020 as a possible launch date.

That should be enough time to pull together specially fitted space suits, a lunar lander and spaceship able to carry enough billionaires to make the trip worthwhile. They will join the 12 persons from 1969 to 1972 who have made the trip care of the U.S. government largess.

If the new moon shot actually takes place it will clearly show the skyrocketing wealth of the rich has zoomed the country to a new gilded age.

The billionaires are most likely to believe that they are some pioneers exploring a new frontier whereas they are actually aristocrats on expensive yachts for a good time. Never let it be said that they don’t know how to party.
