Monday starts a great week at KC Zoo
Monday starts a big week for the Kansas City Zoo.
It will be open from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. through Friday, four hours longer than usual on weekdays.
Then, on Saturday, the zoo will offer its second free day of the year to residents of Jackson and Clay counties, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
It’s a great perk, a way of saying thanks to voters in those two counties who endorsed a sales tax increase in 2011 for lots of improvements at the zoo.
