Mitt turns to Obama to make it through the debate

What do you do when you know you are in over your head with no land in sight? Grab the nearest life preserver and hang on for dear life.

Such was the spot in which Mitt Romney found himself during the final Presidential debate. The irony being that the only way to save himself was to cling to and agree with almost every point Barack Obama made on foreign policy. The networks could have saved 80 minutes worth of prime time ad revenue by editing the debate down to the candidates’ disagreement over the auto industry bailout and Israel and calling it a night.

Foreign policy can tend to be a snoozer of a topic with voters, especially when things are tough at home. Clearly Mitt’s handlers told him he could afford to not take any big swings at the President on tonight’s topic. It remains to be seen if his base will forgive him for following that advice.

Indeed, Mitt Romney has tried to play safe by being more like the President, creating less division and making the debate not as exciting as the 2nd one.

Like the prize fighter in the the 12th and final round, all Romney had to do was duck and jab. He is ahead on the cards and now just needs to get the decision.
