McDonald's canary in the mine
When McDonald’s Corp.’s sales drop, it’s time to really wonder about the U.S. economic recovery from the Great Recession.
The nation’s largest fast-food chain reported that sales at its stores open at least 13 months dropped 1.8 percent in October — the first monthly slippage in nine years. People have pulled back from eating out even with the savings from the Dollar Menu.
Expect to see more McDonald’s ads soon to try to encourage more people to pick up those burgers and fries.
But if McDonald’s is hurting more than analysts were expecting, people have to really wonder what is going on with other companies and in other industries.

Unemployment rate in November will soar. It will not reach 8 again for years. Welcome to Obamica.
