Let's hope campaign for moderate candidates includes Kansas

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is planning to spend at least $10 million of his own money to push for moderate candidates throughout the U.S. ahead of the Nov. 6 election.

Let’s hope Bloomberg has a better understanding of geography than the classic New Yorkers’ view of the country being scrunched between their outsized town and Los Angeles. If that’s true, the uber-rich mayor needs to dump a bundle into the Sunflower State, where being a moderate is a dirty word.

For the sake of good government, Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback has to be challenged by someone like Bloomberg in Brownback’s drive to tow the state even harder to the right with the election of uber-conservatives.

But if Bloomberg bases allocation on need, then there won’t be funds left for anywhere else but Kansas.

I am all for moderation. Lets hope that Mayor Bloomberg does not forget the state of Missouri as he seeks to moderate our politicians.

The honorables Cleaver and Clay are some of the furthest left leaning Representatives in the country and do not appear to be in line with the political views of most Missourians.
