As members of Missouri’s General Assembly keep making fools of themselves, never forget: They also are making fools out of Missourians before the eyes of the nation.

Last week I posted on this phenomenon, which landed Missouri in the laugh-a-minute cross-hairs of Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.

Then on Monday, the Missouri House passed a bill to shut down the Sue Shear Institute for Women in Public Life at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

It trains women for political roles - a subversive ploy to woo more females into the Democratic Party (as all good Republicans know).

The Senate unfortunately already has signaled its acceptance of this caveman-like attitude.

So it will be interesting to see whether Gov. Jay Nixon inserts himself in the process to veto this laughable measure.
