KS lawmakers can't stop talking about female anatomy

Midwest Voices contributing columnist: Aimee Patton

The Kansas City Star

Another day…another debate about female anatomy in Topeka.

Yesterday it was the abortion bill.

Today it was debating new stripper laws.

What do both of these things have in common?

It starts with a “V” and ends with an “A”. For those old enough..you will get it. For those who are still in school, well you are on your own, because Kansas won’t let Planned Parenthood teach you sex education.

It seems that the Kansas legislature is obsessed with the female anatomy.

“We can’t seem to stop talk about the female body. Yes, we realize that there are other things that need to happen in Kansas. Our kids need to get educated. We know we need to attract new business to Kansas. But hey, we are men. One day it’s abortion and the next day it’s lap dances. Give a fella a break.” anonymous source.

Ok, I made that that last quote up, but it sure feels that way these days.

Now the “lap dance” legislation was struck down today, but not after much debate and many twitter jokes.

Part of the debate about the stripper legislation was keeping patrons 6 feet away from strippers at clubs. However, with our aging population people were worried that patrons wouldn’t even be able to see the strippers.

My eye site is failing. Six feet away is a long way for an old-timer like me. If I pay to see a stripper, I would actually like to see a stripper, not some blur 6 feet away.” said a senior citizen who would like to remain anonymous for obvious reasons.

No worries senior citizen strip club attendees, the Kansas bill was struck down.

What’s on the agenda for next week for our hard working Kansas lawmakers? Probably some great boobs or tush legislation. We will have to wait and see.

Since abortion is murder, and strip clubs thinly veiled wh0re houses, and both square in the NIMBY category, I think govt. has a legitimate legislative interest.

    Try again, Aimee.

Now, if the G-ment decided that us guys needed to have a medically unnecessary probe inserted into our P’s or forbade treatment for erectile dysfunction….Thems fightin’ words
