KC's sewer bond election could be up for grabs
In political circles, Question No. 2 on Kansas City’s ballot is seen as an almost sure-bet winner on Aug. 7.
Approving revenue bonds to improve the city’s sewer system makes sense.
And sewer rates will go up a lot faster in the next few years if voters reject the bonds.
But supporters better not overlook the fact that many residents don’t trust the Water Services Department.
Its reputation could threaten passage of the bonds in three weeks.

And that the more environmental-friendly projects like water gardens are being ignored in favor of just building bigger pipes.
