Iran creates new worries for U.S., Israel, world
Iran has turned into a unpredictable state for the U.S., Israel and the world.
Applying sanctions on Iran oil sales over it developing nuclear capabilities has caused Iran to end oil sales to six oil dependent European countries.
Mysterious assassinations of Iranian nuclear scientists have occurred. Fingers of responsibility have been pointed at Israel.
Fingers now are pointing to Iran in the bombing this week in New Delhi that injured four people, including an Israeli diplomat’s wife. Bombs also have been found in Tbilisi, Georgia, and Bangkok. Israel is blaming Iran.
Iranian officials deny any involvement. But clearly tensions are increasing. Like it or not, the world is being dragged into the ongoing theater.

That happened just now? Where have you been since 1979?

3 months agoWhile the smoke of the fiery bluster rises on the horizon we cannot help but believe that these tensions have existed …..at this level….for over 30 years now.
While the economic sanctions are squeezing Iran into irrational actions, the powers that be deflect domestic unrest onto others.
While the rest of the world nervosuly watches and waits, our idealist in chief ridiculously forwards the draconian defense departmant cuts against the wishes of his own Secretary of defense and follows that up with the insanity of an 80% cut in our arsenal of nukes.
Obama is wrong again. We can be certain that those actions further embolden Iran’s irrationality.

3 months agoWhy feed the war machine mentality? Must war be inevitable? Thoughts as well as actions are creative. We, the US citizenry play no small role in the development of another conflict in the Middle East if we fuel an attitude of “our arsenal of nukes” vs. Theirs. At least, at the VERY least, attempt peace first.

2 months, 4 weeks agoI am all for peace Ms Singer-Hanson. Peace through strength is more imperative today than ever.
In the nine books I have read about Islam and the various Muslim sects it became abundantly clear that the radical clerics have NO RESPECT for those who demure from conflict. Temerity is respected…..not in words…..but in actions.
They judge us as a people by the deeds and actions we undertake and pay little attention to rhetorical flourish. Neither of those realities favor their view of us as lead by Obama.
They held about 100 of us hostage thirty years ago and have never spoken a civil word to us since that act of terror.
Is that long enough to attempt good faith dialogue in pursuit of peace…..or should we continue on this course of aquiescence and hope until the Ayatollahs get their Bomb?
Then what?
