Immigration deal long overdue
Republicans and Democrats are at least in agreement that the country has to hammer out a plan so undocumented immigrants in the U.S. can become legal.
No details have emerged, however, lawmakers are working on a plan to help 11 million illegal immigrants become U.S. citizens. President Barack Obama announced recently that he wanted to get that done during his second term.
The United States has always been a nation of mostly immigrants. It just makes sense for the Republicans to drop their hard anti-immigration stand to create opportunities for citizenship for those who’ve come here “yearning to breathe free.”
With the U.S. birth rate dropping in many places, the door to immigration needs to stay open to ensure that the country will have enough workers in the future.

3 months, 3 weeks agoLuckily, NEXT President Rubio has had a major effoct on the proposal.
Give existing illegal aliens work visas, give them a path to citizenship after many years, which includes going to the back-of-the-line and secure our borders—which is the FIRST ISSUE.
Most importantly, give green cards to students in the sciences, engineering and math. This will improve the quality of our new citizens vs. the flood of the uneducateds we have today…..
Sounds very workable to me, but I am not a smart lib
