Kansas City and Kansas City, Kan., residents who are to get Google Fiber should visit the high-speed Internet provider’s headquarters.

It is enlightening. First of all, there are a lot of young guys who staff the place. They are local people who were eager to get great Google jobs.

They are eager to show people who drop in when their block is to get Google Fiber. Then they demonstrate just what Google Fiber can do.

Movies download faster than it takes to just ask for popcorn and a Coke at a theater.

Another cool feature is getting to see what’s at any address — your own or in this town in this country or some other. The system literally flips across the city or the planet to the address chosen and Shazam! It is on your computer screen.

Then one can take a virtual tour seemingly flying down the street to see the block or the next via Google Fiber. Touring art galleries is a snap with close ups of any artist’s work right down to the texture of the canvas and the brush strokes.

Check it out — even on Sundays.
