Getting this light bulb not such a bright idea

People who run to hardware stores for the new $60 light bulbs, which are supposed to last 20 years, must generally be the first on their blocks with the latest anything such as iPads that get too hot and smartphones that aren’t so bright.

Dutch-based Philips manufacturer is supposed to discount the price for consumers so the bulbs could be as low as $20 to$30. But that doesn’t make a lot of sense with the transience of the American population.

If most people stay less than seven years in their home, they will not have gotten their money’s worth out of those costly, long-lasting bulbs no matter how warm and natural the light is supposed to be. The last I checked, apartment owners and homebuyers tend to frown on people taking light bulbs out of a place when they move as much as they would be upset over people removing toilets and other plumbing fixtures.
