Expect a bit of a wait to vote today
Normally going to vote takes less time than pumping gas at a convenience store.
But not today. The ballot is clogged with people running for national, state and local offices. In addition, voters in Missouri are asked whether to retain judges.
And that’s before people get to the ballot questions, which take time and thought to decipher. The North-East Public Library today looked as if people were taking college entrance exams because the folks spent so much time studying the ballots before voting on everything from president to city and state issues.
But there was little waiting to vote. New and old citizens eagerly showed their driver’s licenses and passports to get their ballots.
One of the newly minted citizens who showed his passport to get a ballot got help from a fellow voter on how to etch in the circles to ensure that his vote counted.
Isn’t America beautiful?
