Down to earth Powerball winners
The Kansas City Star
Cindy and Mark Hill sound like they have their feet on the ground, a solid Missouri couple.
That’s good, because they are about to be buffeted by hurricane-like winds of publicity, not to mention people asking them for money.
The Hills, who live in Dearborn in Platte County, stepped forward officially Friday as winners of half of the $587.5 million Powerball jackpot.
According to The Star:
“The Hills, who have grown children and who adopted the girl from China five years ago, said they had talked about adopting again after finding out about their win, according to the lottery statement. They also plan to help family members pay for college for their four granddaughters and nieces and nephews.”
They also are talking about buying a horse, a red Camaro.
Those are all positive sentiments. The kind that well-grounded people might make. Let’s hope all the problems that can come with instant wealth don’t change the Hills.
