Check your biases about other cultures at the door, because Kansas City’s Ethnic Enrichment Festival is always one of the most entertaining local events of the year.

It runs from 6 to 10 p.m. today, then continues from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at Swope Park.

The festival features an amazing collection of booths selling food that’s eaten by billions of people all around the world.

The entertainment, especially musical and dancing events, are often top-notch.

Thousands of us get to mingle with people of other cultures, learning something along the way.

Hey, almost all the people here are “Americans,” just with different ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

It’s a great place to see friends and, often, find out things about their backgrounds you didn’t even know.

And it’s cheap, with free parking and $3 admission for people over 12.

My advice: Go, you won’t be disappointed.

Here is a full schedule of events and other information about the festival.

    ??

Denigrate and prejudice your audience much, Yael, or is today special?

Yet, despite your enticing backhanded advertisement, my wife and I enjoy going almost every year.
