Kansas City Manager Troy Schulte formally has requested the return of $15,000 paid to bring world-champion boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. to Kansas City.

Good luck with that.

Mayweather has to be laughing at the stern letter Schulte sent to him, saying that because the proposed youth enrichment and anti-violence event didn’t occur on Saturday, the city wants its money back. A deadline of Dec. 20 was set.

Unfortunately, the check has already been cashed. Schulte OK’d the payment in late October, The Kansas City Star reports, at the request of Councilman Michael Brooks. Turns out, however, that Mayweather of Las Vegas isn’t the best role model for kids because of his domestic violence record.
