Victory: Boulevard Brewery won’t be releasing any Chocolate Ale in 2013.

As noted during the Chocolate Ale hype earlier this year, I haven’t been a big fan, even though my critics point out I don’t drink.

The Star reported the development Wednesday afternoon.

Here’s release from the brewery, which is pretty self-explanatory.

On Wednesday, Boulevard Brewing Company announced that Chocolate Ale, one of the brewery’s Smokestack Series offerings, will not be produced in 2013. The announcement does not mean that the beer has been permanently retired, only that it won’t be a part of next year’s lineup.

It’s no secret that Boulevard faced challenges during the two previous releases of the popular seasonal beer, not least of which was satisfying surprisingly strong consumer demand. The company is actively working on several initiatives to help overcome these challenges, for Chocolate Ale as well as its other Smokestack Series seasonal and limited release offerings.

Boulevard will keep consumers informed over the coming months through its website and social media outlets. In the meantime, fans of the Kansas City company can look forward to some new additions to Boulevard’s portfolio, including 80-Acre Hoppy Wheat Beer and Reverb Imperial Pilsner, both of which should be available later this summer.

You were quite happy about their problems before. Are you still happy?

It’s hard enough to make it in a competitive business with the competition, government regulation and then to have to deal with a hostile op/ed writer is tough.

This word “Victory”…I do not think it means what you think it means. Thanks for the laugh. You really should start an angry man vlog. I’m guessing you would be hilarious to watch in mid incoherent rant. Should you ever decide to start drinking, here’s a beer perhaps more suited for you: http://foundersbrewing.com/the-lineup/curmudgeon-old-ale I suggest you set back, enjoy a beer, and contemplate what it is about yourself that makes you want to disrespect the individuals that work in the beer industry in your own city. Not to mention the people that enjoy the product & a Kansas City based world renowned chocolatier. I’ll leave you to your demons now, good day sir.
