Birther nonsense back in Missouri

In another productive day in the Missouri legislature, the House Elections Committee sat through some painful testimony from Rep. Lyle Rowland of Cedarcreek in southern Missouri, who wants to resurrect the birther issue.

Yes, Rowland told the committee, Missouri is the Show-Me state and its unofficial motto should be “trust but verify.” President Barack Obama presenting the original copy of his birth certificate on national TV is apparently not good enough.

For an excruciating look at your legislature in action, watch Rowland’s testimony before the committee. It’s a real point of pride.

Funny, but I was just writing to ‘ol George about Birthers. You see, Walking Dead is back on and I watched an episode just last night and was thinking the Birther nonsense is like a zombie, it’s dead, slow , and it just won’t go away.

And like poor little Sophia, should be shot in the face.

Seriously, before they can drug-test anyone, shouldn’t there be a minimum IQ test for Legislators?

Time was, even rural communities took some pride in sending their best and brightest to make laws. The horrifying thought is that maybe they still do.

Really!…..you guys are worried about another rural “Virgil Peck” yet seem to embrace that a complete raving idiot can serve in the senate for over three decades…and get elected as VP with an IQ that will match his age in about ten more years.

Still more frightening is that he was the best man on a two man ticket….. so I guess IQ is not neccessarily the best measure of a man.

You can always tell someone’s lost an argument when the abuse begins to fly. Lacking anything of substance name calling seems to provide some therapeutic catharsis.

For Rep. Rowland and his fellow Birthers denying Obama’s citizenship makes them feel better, superior. If Obama is only President by deceit then they can rest assured that the universe is not out of order.

If he had nothing to hide he wouldn’t keep this issue alive. He had dual citizenship with Indonesia therefore disqualifying him for POTUS and was NOT vetted.

Even many Dems have now conceded it is very possible he did NOT qualify….

Do any of you water-carriers know what jimmy obama put on his Fulbright scholarship application???

The only reason for pursuing this is that it would invalidate the last 3 years of laws, including your “signature” legislation libs, 0’care. And jimmy ii would have to find a job since he would not qualify for the pension. Maybe Michelle’s 300K hospital “community relations” job could be opened-up again since it folded after she left. Maybe it wasn’t a “necessary” job afterall??

    Dear Carrie:

First, dual citizenship would not disqualifiy Obama — even if it were true. Technically, Mitt Romney is a dual citizen: US and Mexico, where his father George was born. George was also eligible to be President — and ran in 1968.

Second, The fact that Obama attended private school in Jakarta does not make him a dual citizen, any more than the fact that Newt attended school in (horrors!) France makes him French.

Honestly, I had no idea that Joe Biden had such a loyal following, since if Obama were not eligible, Biden would be President!
